A Flood of Biblical Proportion

1 minute read time

A year ago National Geographic Magazine published a prescient article detailing what could happen if a major hurricane and flooding struck New Orleans. Reading the first few paragraphs of the article you think it is current and describes last weeks catastrophe.

The article shows the ecological state of the Louisiana Bayou and the power behind the Mississippi River on a calm day, much less when it leaves its banks. Officials in New Orleans and Louisiana, and the Federal level,  knew the vulnerabilities of the region. Disaster has struck before and it will strike again. Will there be adequate leadership to lessen the loss of life when it does?

Cal Thomas has a very good article showing some of the history of politics and corruption in Louisiana. Good people suffer in many ways when their government lets them down.
