God Forgives But Google Never Forgets
You should think twice, maybe even three times before posting anything personal to the web or even in an email. What gets out into cyberspace sticks, for a long time.
This from Seth Godin tells a valuable morality tale. He advises, “Everything you do now ends up in your permanent record”.
If we could ensure that all our communication, verbal and written, is done in a spirit of love and kindness it would keep us from crossing a line and making serious mistakes with our relationships and our reputation.
I believe it was Mark Twain who said you should write out your frustrations and hostility in a letter, put it on the shelf for a week, then read it again. Chances are you will have cooled down and the need to send it will no longer be there. You will probably save yourself some embarrassment and further conflict.
The apostle Paul wrote, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone”. (Colossians 4:6)
Good advice that can keep us on the straight and narrow.
