Grand Canyon North Rim

1 minute read time
How do you describe with words one of the world’s great vistas? Standing on the north rim America’s Grand Canyon is to peer into time. It is to see to the basement of time. It is to wonder at our place in it all. Last month I did something I had wanted to do for twelve years. I hiked the Grand Canyon from “rim to rim”. We started on the north rim, the one less traveled, and came out two days later on the south rim, where all the others go. As this picture shows, a good sunset over the canyon brings out a lot of detail and color from the rocks. On this day we could see the mountains all the way to Flagstaff. I’ll take you along on the trip over the next few posts and give you a sense of what it is like to accomplish an item off the “bucket list”.
