"I'm just sick... I have an addiction."

Are you struggling with a sexual addiction that has consumed you? There is hope in overcoming.

I'm sure many of you are aware of the Ohio kidnapper who kept three women captive (and a young child) in his home in Cleveland, Ohio, for the past decade. The news broke today that this man took his own life while in prison. The entire situation is just horrendous. I'm sure many have prayed that these young women will find peace in their lives.

I want to focus on the statement the man said at his sentencing. He said to the court that he had been "driven by sex." He added, "I'm not a violent person… I'm not a monster, I'm a normal person. I'm just sick. I have an addiction, just like an alcoholic has an addiction." (http://www.bbc.co.uk/)

The question I have for you is: Do you have an addiction that is driven by sex? Are you struggling with an addiction to pornography? Do you feel hopeless or do you feel that this desire has led you to actions that are irreversible? If so, there is hope and there is a way to overcome.

Overcoming Pornography AddictionThis weekend's Beyond Today program is called "How to Stop a Porn Addiction". In this program, we interviewed a licensed professional clinical counselor and two men who have struggled with an addiction to pornography and are overcoming. We are also offering a brand new Bible study aid during the program, "Overcoming Pornography Addiction". This study aid provides helpful information on how to break the chains of slavery to this sin. We hope that this program and the study aid will help anyone who is struggling. God wants you to break free from a porn addiction—with God, you can overcome!
