The NSA Scandal and Your Future

Recently, beginning with the information revealed by Edward Snowden, the American public has been informed about the extensive surveillance and data collection performed by the National Security Administration (NSA).

Anything you produce digitally – from phone calls, texts, and emails to health records and security information – has likely been viewed, copied, filed, and saved in an NSA data storage facility, where the government can read it whenever they want.

Because this is done without a warrant, many Americans are concerned that this violates their constitutional right guaranteed by the Fourth Amendment. Others argue that this is a necessary measure in order to protect the American people from the rampant and real threat of terrorist and cyber attacks.

Is it really the end of the world?

Regardless of the situation in the US, the future will bring increased surveillance and control, economic or otherwise, by the powerful governments of this world on their own citizenry. Bible prophecy indicates that this will be the case.

“He [The Beast]causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name,” (Revelation 13:16-17, NKJV).

The Beast – a European confederation – will have plenty of control over the world’s financial system. It will only allow people to buy, sell, and participate in the economy, if they do so under its political and religious authority. This power will also be able to “make war” with the true, biblical Church of God (Revelation 13:7).

This again points to intense control over all the people in the world. This government will know who you are, what you believe, where you are, and will want to kill you for following God’s way. What about you?

For this reason, it is important to heed Jesus’ command to “watch” the events taking place in the world as we draw nearer to His return:

“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man,” (Luke 21:36, NKJV).

God has special promises for those that are faithful to the example of Jesus Christ and God’s way of life revealed in the Bible. This will be a time in the future when personal allegiance to God will be vital.

To strengthen our resolve now, we need to study and meditate on God’s Word daily, draw near to Him through prayer and begin to shape our minds to be like that of Jesus Christ. In order to do that we have to be fluent in His Word, the Bible.

The end times are taking shape right now, prepare yourself! God promises a vibrant future in the Kingdom of God, which far outweighs the tribulations of this lifetime!
