A Rising King of the South?

2 minutes read time

Yesterday's Financial Times carried a full page ad from the American Jewish Committee asking, "Can anyone within range of Iran's missiles feel safe? Suppose Iran one day gives nuclear devices to terrorists. Could anyone anywhere feel safe? The message ad had a map showing the reach of a missile fired from Iran reaching into Africa, Europe and Asia.

There have been a number of good articles recently detailing the danger from a nuclear armed Iran. This story only grows larger and will not be gong away. With each day Iran gets closer to having a nuclear weapon. Since 1979 the government of Iran has been hostile to America and western values. The ruling Mullahs have been very clear of their intentions. The current President Amadinijad seems to be a more vocal mouthpiece for the clerics.

Bible prophecy shows a King of the South will arise from this part of the world and threaten the status and position of the King of the North, (Daniel 11:40f). On today's world stage there is a rising tide of Islamic fundamentalism. Iran, for the moment, is the center of this energy.

Here are a couple of articles to read for background. One is by Ross Mackenzie. This one appeared Tuesday in Opinion Journal.
