Give What Is Good

When our neighbor has a need and we are able to supply some good to him, we ought to do it quickly and not postpone the giving (Proverbs 3:27-28).
This Proverb does add the qualifier "to whom it is due." We are also told to give bread to our enemy if he is hungry and water if he is thirsty (Proverbs 25:21-22). The reason is that God is watching and He loves the attitude of anyone who cares about others.
We cannot always be running around just trying to do good and to give things away. But when someone in our presence as a neighbor has a need or if we owe that person something such as appreciation or the return of something of his we have used—we should not only walk to do that good, we should run. Don’t put off doing what is good to whom it is due.
