Help Yourself
There was never any doubt that God could do everything for mankind.
God put Adam and Eve in a garden that could be called paradise in a way, but He also told them that they were responsible to "tend and keep it" (Genesis 2:15). He gave us wonderful things like coconuts and other nuts we can eat, but He does not crack them for us. He even supplies creatures like birds with worms to eat, but He does not drop them into the nest for them.
In life we have learned that sitting still and wishing never accomplished anything. We are to trust Him with our future for all eternity—and with our future that we cannot see or fully grasp. That is called faith, but faith without works is dead (James 2:26). Sometimes parents give children an easy life served "on a silver platter." That is no favor to the young who will need to make good decisions and take proper action all their lives. It pleases God when we work hard and make plans. He blesses the work of our hands when we walk with Him.
