Life Is Short

1 minute read time

Eternity existed before the day of our birth, and eternity exists after the day of our death.

In between is a small segment of time that we call our life. It is short when compared to eternity (Job 14:1). We might view life as a small valley that exists between two huge mountains. We can do nothing about the eternity that came before, but we have been given an opportunity to enter the eternity that lies ahead. While we are living we are offered the gift of eternal life by the Author of life (Romans 6:23).

God requires some action from us. To seek Him in all humility, to repent when we know our offenses, to believe in the redemption through Christ and to resist sin through obedience to Him for the rest of our days. Those actions form holy righteous character in all who diligently obey Him. The conversion to having a thinking, working existence for eternity is not impossible and does not take a lifetime. It does take a humble and believing heart. Let us make the most of our life so we can gain life eternal.
