Speak Kindly and Leave the Rest to God

1 minute read time

The second great commandment, which is like the first, is to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-40).

We are imperfect and so are all others. We may be good neighbors, and others may be too. In an imperfect world filled with imperfect humans, sometimes the best we can do is speak kindly to others and with care. We all are created human and stand before God’s throne. Since He is all-understanding, we can leave the rest to Him.

God loved us all, even when we were deep in trespasses and ignorance (Ephesians 2:4-5). Speaking kindly shows our understanding that others are also among those God loves and wants to be saved. It is God’s task to call and convert people. He is the Master Potter for all mankind, and we are to follow His footsteps, not get in the way. Speaking kindly can never hurt, and when we have no answers, we can more easily leave the rest to God.
