Stay Humble
How are we able to be humble and yet have enough confidence in ourselves that we can also be bold?
Being humble is easy if we never forget how great God is and if we pay attention to the wonders the Hubble telescope has revealed. This is a huge universe—and God created it simply by speaking, and it was done. Bernard Bailey wrote, "When they discover the center of the universe, a lot of people will be disappointed to discover they are not it." We should not think more highly of ourselves that we ought to (Romans 12:3).
It is through humility toward God and obedience to His words that we are allowed to come boldly before His throne (Hebrews 4:16). It is often among ourselves that humility suffers. Obedience to God's words require that we are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves (Luke 10:27-28). It takes thought and effort to keep a humble attitude before our fellow men—but God knows we can do it and expects us to. Jesus taught mankind how to walk on this path.
