Thanks Be to God
Our benevolent and loving heavenly Father enjoys bestowing gifts and blessings upon His children.
When our attitudes are right in His sight and our requests reflect humility and respect towards our Creator, His heart overflows with goodness. Young King Solomon found that out when he asked for the best gift in humility as he became the King of Israel (1 Kings 3:9-10). His request pleased God so much that God added to the blessings all the things for which Solomon did not ask (1 Kings 3:13). Solomon was thankful for what God gave him, and that opened the door for God to give a second and third benefit.
Thankfulness with no further requests is a great benefit to us. God knows our every need and gladly fills those. He also rejoices in giving an abundance of blessings to those who carefully follow His Way and who love Him. Thanks belong to God and the more thankful we are, the more loving He is in return. Giving thanks allows for showers of blessings upon those who love Him.
