Who Will We Worship?
Will we worship the God found in the Bible or be a god unto ourselves?
We would not know of God if He had not given us a book that tells us about Him. The words in that book have survived thousands of years with an accuracy that no other book can claim.
If we only know of God through this book, then shouldn't we study every word of it to see what He requires in order to truly know Him and His will?
If the Holy Bible is not His gift to mankind to learn how to know Him and live, then there is no God and there is no right and wrong way to live. There is no light at the end of the tunnel and only darkness awaits us.
If that is the case, we can each become a deity unto ourselves and decide what we will believe and do. We live, we perish and are soon forgotten if there is no standard to live by. Life becomes a pursuit of what we think will fulfill us, but it leaves a void no amount of pursuing can fill. Yet, God put eternity into our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11) and the need for something greater than ourselves to rely on.
“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, ‘You shall not covet’” (Romans 7:7).
