The picturesque town of Midland, Ontario, will be the site of the 2025 Feast of Tabernacles. The town is perched on magnificent Southern Georgian Bay—home to 30,000 islands. Midland is an easy 90-minute drive from Toronto and 30 minutes from Barrie. The region has a blend of scenic landscapes, diverse wildlife, a quaint harbor with interesting waterfront trails and attractive parkland, which lends itself to a relaxing Feast experience. During the Feast, vivid fall colors usually abound.
The town has a number of attractions including murals in the downtown area, museums and Little Lake Park. Nearby is the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre where you can walk meandering trails, see several exhibits and view a variety of birds. For those interested in local history, be sure to visit Huronia Museum, Ouendat Village and St. Marie Among the Hurons.
Shopping is available in the downtown area or in nearby Orillia at the famous Mariposa Market. The city of Barrie also provides abundant shopping possibilities. There are a variety of restaurants throughout the area and an onsite fine-dining restaurant, which is available most evenings.
Services
We are returning once again to the Quality Inn and Conference Center where the Feast has been held for a number of years. At the Quality Inn, we receive warm and friendly service from the hotel staff who greet us as family. They have a lovely ballroom with seating capacity ideal for our needs. The Atrium, which includes a swimming pool, is a popular place for brethren to gather and visit or play games.
Housing
Accommodations include standard rooms as well as some suites. For those staying in the hotel, a hot buffet breakfast is included. All rooms have high-speed internet, a small refrigerator and a coffeemaker. The hotel has a heated indoor swimming pool, hot tub and sauna for added relaxation. An elevator is available and laundry facilities are conveniently located onsite. Members are encouraged, if possible, to stay at the Quality Inn. For those who need alternate housing, there are other hotels, cottages and bed-and breakfasts nearby.
Activities
Planned festival activities will focus on family togetherness beginning with a “meet and greet” that combines fellowship with snacks! Additionally, we will have a Bible study, seniors’ activity, Family Day and the ever-popular variety show.
At a small Feast site in a small town, there are plenty of opportunities to spend time together both onsite during official activities and as you meet others in the various restaurants and attractions in the area.
Taxes
Ontario has a 13% GST tax. Guest rooms have an additional 2.5% MAT (municipal accommodation tax).
