The St. Lucian people are renowned for their friendliness, warmth and welcoming approach that can shine as brightly as the Caribbean sun. The island is lush and tropical, with temperatures ranging from the high 70s to mid-80s around Feast time. The famed Pitons, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, are the signature of St. Lucia. These volcanic peaks, named Gros and Petit Piton, rise 2,620 feet and 2,460 feet respectively right out of the ocean. Beyond their sheer size, these natural skyscrapers symbolize the island: pristine and dramatically beautiful. A few of the many other attractions include diving, rain forest zip-lining, Diamond Falls and Mineral Baths, the “Drive-In Volcano,” hiking at nearby Pigeon Island, water sports and local handicraft gift shopping.
The Feast this year will be held in the northern part of the island at Harmony Suites Hotel. The Harmony Suites sits directly on Rodney Bay, and is a five-minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Reduit Beach, in Gros Islet. For more information about Harmony Suites, visit their website at harmonymarinasuites.net.
Services
Services will be held in the Harmony Suites Hotel conference center. The meeting room capacity is around 100, and we expect to reach that number.
Housing
After you have registered for the Feast, instructions for making hotel reservations will be sent to you. Overseas feastgoers are welcome to book at the Harmony Suites, but may also book elsewhere. There is a wide variety of accommodation available within walking distance.
Travel
There are two airports on the island. The Hewanorra International Airport at Vieux Fort (UVF) is 40 miles south of Castries and a 1 ½ hour drive from the Feast site. Taxi fare is $100 - $120 one-way. The smaller George F. L. Charles Airport (SLU) in Castries is approximately 20 minutes away. There are no direct flights to/from this airport from mainland U.S.; however, there are connections through San Juan.
