Inside United Podcast #008: Rainer Salomaa - An Update on the Work in Canada

Canadian Council of Elders member Rainer Salomaa updates UCG president Victor Kubik on the work of the United Church of God, Canada, office.

Active in the ministry of Jesus Christ for more than five decades, Victor Kubik is a long-time pastor and Christian writer. Together with his wife, Beverly, he has served in pastoral and administrative roles in churches and regions in the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa. He regularly contributes to Church publications and does a weekly podcast. He and his wife have also run a philanthropic mission since 1999. 

He was named president of the United Church of God in May 2013 by the Church’s 12-man Council of Elders, and served in that role for nine years.

Rainer pastors congregations in Calgary, Red Deer, Winnipeg and Regina. He served as the chairman of the National Council for 20 years. He also chairs the Ministerial Services team in Canada. He was born in Finland and grew up in Canada. He is an Ambassador graduate of 1969 and has served in the church and ministry since that time. He and his wife, Claudia, were married in 1970. They have two married daughters. Claudia, has run her own home-based upholstery business over 25 years. They enjoy hunting, fishing and camping and their three grandchildren.
