Recipe from my mom and it's still the favorite in our home.

Ingredients

1⁄2 cup shortening
1 cup water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole wheat flour

Instructions

Heat the water, shortening, sugar and salt in a saucepan, let cool. Then add 1 c. whole wheat flour and mix. Add more whole wheat flour just until dough forms a ball with your spoon. Do not knead. Roll small balls of dough into very thin circles using a rolling mat and small amounts of flour. Bake at 375°F for 7 min. but turn them over after half the time and poke any bubbles. Freezes well in air-tight containers or ziplocs.
