Also known as Paratha, this delicious fried flat bread is for when you want to spoil yourself! Crispy and flaky, they go well with most Indian dishes be it a gravied curry or a dry stir-fry.

Ingredients
3 1⁄2 cups flour (sifted)
3 1⁄2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon salt
cup butter (melted)
Instructions
- Combine all dry ingredients, sift together.
- Add melted butter and buttermilk
- Kneed and form a ball
- Wrap the ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour
- Heat 3 to 4 inches of oil in a deep fryer or small pan
- Working in portions, roll dough on floured surface, to 1/4 inch thickness
- Cut into shapes; strips, circles, triangles etc.
- Drop into hot oil. Cook until they float
- Lift out and drain on paper towels
