Welcome to the January-February 2020 issue of United News, redesigned and updated to celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of UCG.

In this 16-page issue you can find news about the recent Winter Family Weekend held in Cincinnati, Ohio as well as the President's Letter from Victor Kubik and Council Letter from Rainer Salomaa. These sections were formerly called Forward! and From the Council, respectively. The Good News section, which has been rearranged for this new format to be a completely standalone insert an article on the 8th Commandment by Don Hooser, "Will Your Faith Survive the Time of the End?" by John Labissoniere, and "How Rooted Are You?" by John McClain.

After an update from a recent pastoral trip to Asia made by Victor and Beverly Kubik along with Darris and Debra McNeely, you can find the financial audit statements for 2018-2019. The last inside page of this issue contains a member profile, which highlights and honors the life of Mrs. Phyllis Knapp, a longtime member of the Church who attends in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Finally, the Beyond Today airing schedule for January and February can be found on the back page of the United News.

Afternoon Sabbath service attendance was 1,172 people, with an additional 1,300 online, listening to special music and a sermon by Tim Pebworth.

My visits to Malawi and Zambia over the past 20 years have given me some remarkable insight into the life and culture of local communities. One area of special interest was local government in the villages.
