It was a blessing to celebrate the Feast at the Nkhwazi church property in Mchinji, about 60 kilometers (37 miles) to the west of the capital city, Lilongwe.
This year’s Feast began on opening night with an attendance of 68 people. The daily services were held at 10:30 a.m. local time, and included choir singing and recitation of Bible verses mostly by Sabbath school children. The highest attendance at the Feast was 79 of which 5 percent were under 13 years.
The sermons and sermonettes focused on the Millennium, painting a picture of the paradise which is to come. A question-and-answer session was also exciting because it sparked discussions that helped bring clarity on topics about which there are common misconceptions.
In addition to church services, the attendees had a chance to share meals and participate in daily physical activities which were done around the Feast site. We also had an entertaining day in which we were separated into different age groups and held discussions relevant to each age demographic. One evening was dedicated to a variety show, which concluded with a Feast dance. The seniors were given a chance to dance first and then the whole group joined them.
On the Eighth Day we held a blessing of three boys and one girl (the youngest was eight months old) from the prospective families who have been attending with us for almost two years.
We look forward to the 2025 Feast of Tabernacles. May God’s Kingdom come!
