2025 Feast of Tabernacles: Ampéfy, Madagascar
In Ampéfy, Madagascar, 45 brethren kept the Feast of Tabernacles in peace and joy.
We celebrated the Feast in Ampéfy, a tourist site renowned for its unique landscapes. Formerly volcanic terrain, Ampéfy is still home to a geyser.
There were 45 of us at this Feast site, including children. Every morning, we held a Bible study. We explored several essential themes such as the divine Feasts, tithing, the Kingdom of God, and many others.
We also visited three iconic sites: Lily Falls, the geyser and Virgin Island—considered the geographical center of Madagascar.
The evenings were enlivened by talent shows and various group games, strengthening the fellowship among all the participants.
Despite the difficulties of daily life and the political and economic instability of the country, everyone felt the peace and comfort that God gives to those who gather in His Name. However, we did experience a trial during the Festival: three people had to be hospitalized. But, thanks to God’s benevolent intervention, they were able to finish the Feast in good health.
During their hospitalization, we had the opportunity to share our faith with several patients. God’s hand was truly at work. A mother had come to the hospital with her sick son, who was placed in the same dormitory as our member, Odilon. When we prayed for Odilon, we offered to pray for the woman’s son as well, which she accepted. That same evening, her entire family, who were present, left the room. When we asked why they left, the woman explained that her family had felt a force during the prayer, and, still under the influence of idolatry, they had preferred to change rooms, as they did not feel comfortable.
The next day, the doctor, intrigued by what had happened, asked many questions about the Church of God. He even expressed the wish that a congregation might one day be established in Ampéfy.
In conclusion, we deeply felt God’s presence throughout this celebration. It was a blessed and uplifting experience for each of us. Your prayers for the situation in Madagascar have strengthened us, reviving our hope and faith: we know that we are not alone.
