2026 Camp Report: Philippines
At Eden Nature Park Resort, 49 campers, 44 staff members and nine mini-campers enthusiastically gathered for summer camp.
Campers learned what it means to follow Christ during morning Christian living classes, which were reinforced with daily quizzes and service workshops. These included personality development, principles of public speaking, Bible journaling and note-taking, songleading, advanced public speaking for boys, unleavened bread making and flower arranging for girls and a dance workshop.
Outdoor sports and activities included basketball, soccer, volleyball and challenging sky rides. Campers, along with some staff and mini-campers, eagerly hiked a 2.6-kilometer mountain trail during the wilderness and forest trekking activity. They courageously crossed challenging bridges and learned how to catch and grill fish outdoors. They also participated in a selection of basic skills workshops, including cooking and baking, keychain making, artificial flower bouquet making, bag charm making, basic sewing, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, basic car maintenance, graphic design and basic AI literacy.
During the first five days of camp, each dorm prepared sumptuous and creatively themed breakfasts for everyone. The dorms also showcased their creativity during daily dorm inspections. After dinner, during Compass Check, campers shared their experiences and the lessons they had learned that day. A question-and-answer session followed dinner on day five.
On Sabbath morning, a fun and challenging “BibleLympics” activity preceded Sabbath services. Afternoon services featured split sermons delivered by assistant camp director Bong Remo and camp director Rey Evasco. All the campers performed the chorale piece “Wherever He Leads I’ll Go” as special music. After sunset, everyone gathered for a Hawaiian-themed dinner, talent show and awards night before the campers headed back to their dorms to pack and say their goodbyes to their counselors and dormmates.
Mr. Evasco remarked, “This year’s camp with the theme ‘Follow Me’ was the most memorable UYC. The campers were keyed up with the CLCs so much so that the lessons spilled over the games and activities that followed, reflecting the lessons for each day!”
We are thankful for this important annual event for our youth in the Church.
