Gospels Part 001

Introduction
2 minutes read time

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12).

Christian soldiers are armed with spiritual tools to fight spiritual battles. God doesn’t leave us without defenses in our spiritual battle. He not only gives us tools to protect ourselves, He gives us an offensive weapon as well. Ephesians 6:17 describes this climactic component of the Christian soldier’s ensemble as "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

You are a Christian soldier as you fight and wrestle against the spiritual forces that seek to dominate, distract, divide and deceive you. As a soldier, doesn’t it make sense that you would practice consistently with your offensive weapon to be prepared when attacks come?

As we learn more about God’s word, we learn how He thinks and what is important to Him. It is this word that He uses to define His people, and obedience to His word that sets His people apart. John 17:17 says, "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." In a world devoid of truth, knowledge of the only source of absolute truth is very valuable.

Know Your Sword is a daily dose of God’s Word that will help you to learn His truths efficiently and from trusted expositors. It will help you learn more about this living sword, and help you to use it more effectively.
