Preteen Camp Ironwood in Southeast Minnesota warmly welcomes campers (ages 5-13) to experience four days and three nights of fun-filled activities in a positive, loving and godly environment. Camp Ironwood takes place in the spectacular outdoor setting of Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch near Stewartville, Minnesota.
Camp activities are designed to enrich children both spiritually and physically in a nurturing and caring camp environment. Activities include daily Christian living and music classes and many outdoor adventures like ziplining, swimming, a slip-n-slide, horseback riding, team challenge, a creek walk, field games, slingshot, two fun arts and crafts classes and a climbing wall. Favorite evening activities include a carnival, novelty Olympics, a treasure hunt and an evening dancing with Jelly. It's a busy four days, full of fond memories to take home and remember for years to come.
Preteen Camp Ironwood has a tradition of being a “family camp” in which dads, moms and teens are also able to attend, working together on staff to make positive and meaningful contributions to make camp special for God’s precious children. Five-year-olds have the option to be campers or to be mini campers (allowing them to participate in mini dorm activities and stay with a parent, rather than in a dorm).
Parents who come to serve on staff can bring their little ones (ages 3-5) who stay overnight in the lodge with dad and mom and can participate in the day-time mini dorm activities. Moms who attend with infants or children aged 2 and under are able to attend; however, they will be assigned to lighter staff responsibilities and must pay the full camper fee, as their first priority will be their little one.
Teens (ages 14-19) are very much appreciated and needed to serve on staff as assistant counselors or to assist the activity staff. They also serve as big brothers and big sisters to the campers. Teens enjoy special evening activities and teen fellowship time once campers are back in their dorms.
