Northwest Camp has been a mainstay in the Northwest region since the inception of the United Youth Camps program. While the program has been held in a variety of locations around the state of Oregon over those years, for the past 16 years, we have been housed at Camp Magruder on the beautiful Oregon Coast. It's difficult to picture a more picturesque location for a summer camp than the stretch of Pacific Coast encompassed by Magruder. Campers will enjoy a spectacular, private, mile-long lake along the eastern border of the facility, and over a half-mile of pristine Pacific Ocean beach to the west. The dorms and facilities are among the best in the region, and the memories that you will make with your dorm mates will be ones you cherish forever.

Campers and staff enjoy a variety of activities offered, and as a result of our location, most revolve around the water. Beach activities, such as volleyball, speedaway, skimboarding and boogie-boarding are always popular. Campers also enjoy kayaking on Smith Lake and water skiing at Lake Lytle. Not all our activities are in the water, we also have archery classes, softball, dance classes, arts and crafts and much, much more. The two camp-wide dances during the week are always a highlight of the camp experience.

Christian Living classes make up the core of each day's spiritual instruction. Each of the activities, lessons and the evening campfire story is designed to build on these themes and help the campers understand the spiritual principles of the day's lesson and how to apply them when they return home. This year, we will be looking at what it means to follow God, and how we can become disciples of Jesus Christ, ensuring we can have a strength of faith in the face of the trials and challenges of this life.

Each year at Northwest Camp, campers build friendships that will last a lifetime. These friendships will become more and more important as the world becomes more and more challenging. Our goal is to establish and maintain a godly atmosphere in which all campers can be enriched for a lifetime.

Staff

The camp experience is made possible due to our dedicated volunteer staff. For those serving on staff, camp is a week of lots of hard work, not much sleep, and many rewarding memories as we are privileged to be a part of helping God's young people grow in His knowledge. Staff should plan to arrive at camp in time for Sabbath services at 2:00 p.m. on July 18th. Counselor arrival times TBA.
