Beyond Today is Back on Television in Australia
SEPTEMBER 18, 2016: The Beyond Today television program has not been aired in Australia since channel 4ME went into liquidation at the end of April, 2016. So, Australian United Church of God members began to pray for another opening—to also include Tasmania, the Northern Territory and other rural areas where the 4ME signal had not been received.
Our prayers have now been answered and from September 15 the Beyond Today television program will be broadcast on 9GEM television. This broadcast will cover the capital cities and some rural areas to begin with. But, from the beginning of October the BT program will also air in Tasmania, the Northern Territory and rural areas in other states where the program was not previously broadcast.
UCG-Australia was also offered the best possible time of 7:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. If all goes as planned this will be the best coverage throughout Australia since the United Church of God began.
Free-to-air television in Australia is still very effective and the Beyond Today program is the most effective means we have of preaching the Gospel in Australia. The first-time viewer immediately receives biblical instruction delivered in a balanced and believable format.
The approachable style of the presenters, along with the discussion of the subject towards the end of the program, encourages viewers to contact us to ask any questions they may have or request our literature. Our statistics also indicate that regular viewers of the program develop their relationship with the Church more quickly and are likely to request contact with a minister or to attend church in a shorter amount of time.
We pray and ask God for His success in preaching the Gospel across the continent with this new television opportunity.
