10th Annual Mammoth Cave Camping Weekend

3 minutes read time

RSVP by Sunday, March 15th. Sites fill up fast, so don’t delay!

The Bowling Green congregation is excited to announce the annual camping weekend at Mammoth Cave from April 23-26, 2026 (Thursday through Sunday). Come for all or part of the fun!

The weekend starts with fellowship around the campfire on Friday evening and hymn sing-a-long. We would love for you to bring your instruments for some live music. On Saturday we will have campfire-side Sabbath services at 2 p.m. (central time). Dress for services this day will be camp casual, modest clothing. On Saturday night we will have a huge potluck (participation is optional). Hotdogs will be provided. We ask families to contribute either a side dish, dessert and/or drinks to be shared.

The bathrooms have electricity. The bathhouse is a "pay shower," so bring quarters and flip-flops! We are all “camp clean” and are very casual with attire, so no need to feel that paying for showers is a requirement.

You will need to purchase firewood from the store at the entrance to the campground (we are not allowed to bring in firewood from outside the park).

Activities

The campground has great riding areas for kids and adults, so bring your bikes. Hiking paths are also available.

There are several cave tours you can reserve to do on your own or with others. To reserve other tours, call 877-444-6777 or visit http://recreation.gov/. You can visit http://www.nps.gov/ for more information on Mammoth Cave and area attractions.

Registration

We have several sites reserved (Loop A). The total cost for each site will be divided by the number of families (typically about $20/night). Some sites will accommodate 2 families (up to 8 people), and some 3 families (up to 16 people). It’s a lot of fun to share space and an opportunity for great fellowship. Please sign up as soon as possible if you want a spot saved for your family. The sign-up deadline for a reserved site is March 15. There is a $10 per family non-refundable fee. If you want to make your own reservations, please feel free to do that as well.

The Mammoth Cave campgrounds keeps several campsites reserved for "same day/first come, first served," so do not be discouraged if you are unable to reserve a campsite online. There will be plenty of sites available for camping, but reservations are recommended. Each campsite has a fire pit ring and picnic table. RV sites do NOT have hookups. Call 877-444-6777 to make a campsite reservation or reserve a campsite online
