Developer Update: Fall Holy Days Posting Guidelines
First, a big thank you to everyone—especially those volunteering at the Feast of Tabernacles! Your service helps make this special season possible for brethren all around the world. This update is both a reminder for posting sermons and a guide for those volunteering for the first time. Thank you very much!
New Language Websites
We are proud to announce the launch of the new French (edunie.ucg.org), Spanish (espanol.ucg.org), and Portuguese (portugues.ucg.org) websites.
Our team has been working hard to migrate these sites to our new website architecture. This process has taken many months and included the dedicated work of many individuals at the Home Office and internationally.
Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and patience!
New Streaming App for Smart TV's
We are hard at work launching a new smart TV streaming app for Beyond Today and the United Church of God.
- Depending on the app marketplace, we hope the new app will be out around Feast time.
- If you already have the Beyond Today app, it will automatically update to the new version.
- The current United Church of God app will be deprecated and will no longer function.
- Instead, the new app will serve as a combined UCG + Beyond Today app.
Stay tuned for release details!
Posting Sermons for the Holy Days
When posting sermons, please make sure to do the following:
- Tagging Sermons
Be sure to include the appropriate tags so brethren can easily find Holy Day sermons in the future—especially those who are sick or unable to travel. Use the following tags for their respective days:- Holy Days AND
- Atonement
- Feast of Trumpets
- Feast of Tabernacles
- Eighth Day
- Assign to the Correct Congregation or Feast Site
Sermons given at a Feast site should be assigned to the Feast site where they were delivered. Please also verify that the site has the “Feast Site” badge applied. - Use the Correct Sermon Date
Make sure the sermon date reflects the actual date it was given. - Titles & Summaries
- DO NOT include the name of the Feast Site or its location in the Title of the sermon.
- Please obtain the summary (or SPS) directly from the speaker, rather than writing your own.
- Include Notes, Slides, and Resources
If the sermon has accompanying notes, slides, or other resources, please include them! Slide decks can be embedded using the sharing options from Google Slides, Slideshare, or other popular services. - Upload Downloads
Any PDFs or related documents can also be shared through the Download section for brethren to access easily. - Maintainer Rights & Permissions
- If you have not received maintainer rights to a Feast Site you are volunteering for, please contact your Coordinator or web_training@ucg.org.
- If you do not have permissions, Maintainers will still be able to post sermons for Feast Sites.
- Important
Feast Sermons are considered to be public. Marking them as Local will make them unviewable.
URL Updates for Congregations and Feast Sites
You will soon notice that many sections of your congregation and Feast sites now have human-friendly URLs.
Gone are the old formats like:
/group/12345/title
The new format will include the congregation’s name, such as:
congregations/cincinnati-east-oh/announcements/another-test-august-2024
Don’t worry—any older links you’ve created will still work and automatically redirect to the new, friendlier URLs.
