Guatemala Blog (Eagle's Nest Orphanage) December 29, 2013

Today was our first full day of activities with the kids, and it exceeded all expectations! It was filled with fun, energy, laughs, love, learning, and hard work. To sum up the day, here are my top five moments along with the pictures below.

Picking up the kids this morning to start the activities. They were all so excited to see us and wanted to hug us, be picked up, and talk to us. The room was buzzing with energy and love! All the kids were so welcoming and happy, and it made for a heartwarming start to the day.

Coloring the puzzle pieces as a get-to-know-you activity with the kids. We then described how we are all different as individuals, but God loves us all, and we fit together as a spiritual family.
 

Sanding the desks with some of the older boys who wanted to help us. They had a blast working hard and were so helpful and fun to work with! It was also a good time to bond with all of our team members as well as the kids that were helping.

Playing soccer with several of the kids. They loved having Garrett and I joined them for their favorite sport!

Catching the beautiful sunset over Lake Atitlán. The view was surreal -- it looked like a computer screensaver. You could also see Panajachel twinkling below and everything was peaceful and glowing. It gave me a needed moment to relax and meditate.
