Home Office Weekly Update
News from this week, including a members' survey and upcoming events.
Member Survey: Available Through April 10
As members of God’s household of faith, it is important we assess the state of our flock and God’s Church. In recent years, the United Church of God has used a survey of its members and attendees to measure progress toward the goals and objectives stated in our Strategic and Operation Plans. Once again, we would appreciate your help and feedback on how we are doing.
The online survey (intended for people of all ages who are associated with the United Church of God) will be available through April 10, 2025 at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2PWTHNH. We welcome your honest, anonymous input as fellow workers in this building of God’s spiritual temple.
Please note, this survey is open to everyone (not just one per household) and we are looking for participation from all ages. As in prior years, the Council of Elders and home office administration will take the statistics and suggestions from the results to help develop a comprehensive Strategic Plan. We will also share the results through United News and a members website video presentation later this year.
The survey should only take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Thank you so much for sharing your input and help.

Death of Grace Arnold
Grace Marie Arnold, wife of elder Nelson Arnold, serving the congregation in Terre Haute, Indiana, died peacefully in her sleep on March 13, 2025 at the age of 84. She was born March 17, 1940 in Casey, Illinois to Charles and Dorothy Watters, and was the oldest of four children.
Grace met her husband, Nelson Arnold, in Brocton, Illinois where they went to high school together. They were married in June of 1957 and later had three children, a son Richard “Rick” (Kerry), a daughter Julie Shew (Richard), and a son Michael “Mike” (Brenda). She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and a soon to be born great, great grandson.
Family meant everything to Grace. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She diligently taught her two sons and daughter about God and helped to instill in them a lasting love for God’s truth and way of life.
Grace became acquainted with God’s truth through her husband, Nelson. They were both baptized in 1969. Nelson was ordained a deacon in 1975, an elder in 2006 and later served for 12 years as the pastor of the Terre Haute, Indiana congregation. Through the years, Grace faithfully served alongside her husband and was devoted to the care of the brethren. She was well known for the many letters and cards of encouragement she wrote to others. She was also a tremendous example of perseverance and tenacity as she struggled through many health issues in the final years of her life.
Grace was a faithful servant to the end and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. We look forward to seeing her again in God’s Kingdom.
Northwest Men’s Weekend
The Tacoma and Olympia congregations are excited to invite men from around the northwest to the annual Northwest Men’s Weekend, returning to the beautiful Seabeck Conference Center in Seabeck, Washington from June 20–22, 2025!
This year, we are honored to welcome guest speaker Bob Dick, who will share a powerful message on “Being Reverent” and deliver the Sabbath sermon, which will be live-streamed for congregations whose pastors are attending.
Our new host, Ken Loucks, who became pastor for Tacoma and Olympia last August, will kick off the weekend with an engaging opening presentation. He will be joined by Daniel Porteous, Keith Tomes, David Jones and Roc Corbett—each offering insightful and interactive messages that bring Titus 2:1–2 to life.
The theme, “Being a Spiritual Leader,” will guide our discussions, helping us grow together as men of faith. With meaningful fellowship, thought-provoking sessions, and plenty of encouragement, this promises to be a weekend of renewal and inspiration.
We’d love for you to join us. Come and be a part of it!
For more information or to register to attend, please contact Roc Corbett at roc_corbett@ucg.org.
REMINDER: Join Us for Daily Bible Reading
Please remember to join us in reading Scriptures together as we prepare for the Passover this year.
Continuing through April 10, we have created a website landing page showing scriptures to read each day—along with passages from our own United Church of God Bible Commentary and other resources where available.
Be sure you read the words from your Bible as well as from our commentary, and include your children in this, as we all read and meditate together on God’s Word. Don’t miss out on this valuable opportunity for daily Bible reading and study. The reading schedule is available by going to https://www.ucg.org/news/daily-bible-reading-pre-passover-scripture-readings.
Let’s take advantage of this special activity as the entire Church throughout the world reads and meditates on the same passages each day.
