Tampa Congregation Helps With Hurricane Irma Cleanup

1 minute read time
On Sunday, Sept. 17, 29 members of the Tampa congregation met at the home of our 91-year-old widow, Betty Oldroyd, to help clean up her yard from the recent Hurricane Irma.

The house had a great number of tree limbs and debris scattered throughout the entire yard. We put together a request for help, and men, women, boys and girls all showed up to work to put things back in shape.

A project which would have taken much of the day was completed in two hours because of the many who volunteered to help out. It not only was a needed Good Works project, it was also fun to spend time with each other while helping out one of our members. Projects such as this help our congregations become closer as a family as we work together to serve each other.
