Obituary: Reg Wright
Reg Wright died on Dec. 17, 2025 at age 91. Baptized in 1963 after first hearing the Radio Church of God, Reg was employed by the Worldwide Church of God in 1967. Ordained as an elder in 1981, he served faithfully for nearly 30 years in a variety of roles, including Mailing Department Manager, Personal Assistant to Australian Regional Directors, and Personal Correspondent for Australia and Asia.
Reg and his wife Joan began the UCG national office from their spare bedroom in 1995, and he continued serving as UCG National Office Manager for 10 years before retiring in 2005. He remained actively involved well beyond retirement, coordinating the Australian Editorial Review Team and the Personal Correspondence Department for many years.
Reg and his beloved wife Joan, who died in July 2025, shared almost 69 years of marriage. Together they served brethren throughout Australia and Asia with dedication and humility. They pastored congregations across Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales, with Reg faithfully preaching the truth while both he and Joan supported and encouraged many through their warmth, care, love and steadfast example.
He is survived by his children Debbie, Kaylene and Paul; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Reg’s legacy of “faith in action” and humble service remains a guiding light for all who knew him.
