There’s still time to apply for camp!

We are just about one month away from the start of our first teen camp of the summer. Camp Cotubic begins June 21!

We also want you to be aware that there is still room available at Southwest Camp, which begins July 5, and Camp Woodland, which begins July 19.

Please be aware that camp scholarships are available. These scholarships are not only for those with financial hardship, but also for families who genuinely want their teens to attend and may simply need a little extra help with tuition or travel expenses.

Parents, if your teen has not yet registered, we encourage you to enroll your child. UYC is a tremendous opportunity for our young people to build godly friendships, grow spiritually and enjoy a positive environment centered on God’s way of life.

If cost is a concern, please speak with your pastor. He can help initiate the scholarship process or contact Ministerial and Member Services for assistance.

Camp has had a tremendous positive effect on so many teens in the Church, and we hope your teen will be able to be part of it this summer.

New Offering Envelopes for the Holy Days

Image
green Holy Day offering envelope with numbered sections

The green Holy Day envelopes have been updated with a cleaner, more user-friendly layout that we believe is easier to read and complete. Below is a brief overview of the updates, along with instructions on how to complete the envelope.

  1. Holy Day name –There is no need to write the date or the name of the Holy Day. Simply check the box that applies.
  2. Index number field – If you know your index number, please enter it here so we can ensure your offering is applied to the correct individual.
  3. Name and address field – Please include your name and address to help us accurately identify you in our system and ensure you receive proper credit for your offering.
  4. Change of address – Check this box if your address has changed. This will notify us to update your information in our system.
  5. Amount box – Indicate the amount of the offering enclosed in the envelope. If you have donated online, there is no need to enter an amount.
  6. Donated online – If you have donated online, check this box to indicate that the envelope does not contain an offering. No additional sections of the envelope need to be completed unless you are providing an address change.
  7. QR code – If you prefer to donate online, you may use the QR code, which will direct you to the UCG offering page to complete your donation.

These new, unlabeled Holy Day offering envelopes have been sent to all congregations and will be available for use on Pentecost.

Personalized Holy Day envelopes with the updated design will be printed and mailed prior to the Fall Holy Days. If you prefer to donate online and no longer wish to receive personalized Holy Day offering envelopes, please let us know by sending an email to mpc@ucg.org or calling (513) 576-7474.

If you have received the impression that we are encouraging online donations, that impression is correct. Donating online helps reduce the possibility of offerings being delayed or lost in the mail and allows donations to be recorded almost immediately. Increased use of online giving also reduces the amount of time members spend counting offerings on Holy Days and decreases the amount of processing time required at the Home Office.

Obituary: Bruce Dean

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Bruce Dean’s death in the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19. While his pain and suffering have come to an end, we take comfort in the hope of resurrection to eternal life at Christ’s return. Bruce will be warmly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, pastor, and dear friend.

At 76 years of age, this year marked his 50th year of dedicated service as an elder of God’s Church. Throughout his ministry, Bruce faithfully cared for congregations both in Australia and across the Asia-Pacific region, leaving a lasting impact on many lives.

We kindly ask that you keep the Dean family in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn, especially Bruce’s children, Renee and Graham, and his grandchildren, Charlie, Samantha, Oliver and Isabel.
