East Texas Regional Family Weekend 2026

The weekend will be filled with events and activities for all ages. Along with Sabbath services and fellowship, there will be Bible seminars, teen and pre-teen Bible studies, a Sabbath hymn sing, Bible Kahoot!, a variety show, family dance, sports, fellowship, food and fun.

All meals throughout the weekend are complimentary, but we encourage everyone to donate to our local food drive benefiting the Agape House charity in Big Sandy.

There is a limited amount of housing available for anyone would like to stay with brethren during the East Texas RFW. You can contact Jim Moody at jim_moody@outlook.com. Include the number of people in your party, how many bedrooms you’ll need, and your phone number.

There are hotels in Gladewater (15 Minutes away), Lindale (25 Minutes away), and Tyler or Longview (30 or more minutes away).

Sabbath

Our featured guest speaker will be Mr. John Elliott, United Church of God president. He will give a seminar at 11 a.m. on the Sabbath.

Instrumentalists are invited to join the opening set of hymns at Sabbath services for the East Texas Regional Family Weekend. Guitars are welcome, but plugins for amplification will not be available for the hymns.

We will once again have a choir for the Regional Family Weekend, and all visiting singers are invited to join! We will be singing "God is Our Refuge" by Alan Pote. Please reach out to Elysia Urwiller (elysiaurwiller@gmail.com) if you would like to participate.

Bible Kahoot!

This year’s Bible Kahoot! topic is Giants of Faith, taken from Hebrews 11. All ages are invited to test their Bible knowledge with interactive questions, which will be posted on the auditorium’s big screen. You can use your smartphone, tablet or computer to answer them. 

Kahoot! does not require creating an account or profile, or entering any of your personal information. Game time will run about an hour. Get ready to test your Biblical knowledge! 

Variety Show

The annual East Texas Regional Family Weekend is rapidly approaching. We are planning the Variety Show for Saturday night, Feb. 14. For those interested in the opportunity of performing, there are a few guidelines. Since space and time are limited, all acts must be under four minutes. Also, we will need all information relating to the performance, such as song title and artist. As is the case every year, all acts will be subject to approval. If you are interested in participating, then please contact Neil Crane by email (neilandrita@hotmail.com), no later than Sunday, Feb. 8.  

Canned Food Drive

We will again be holding a canned food drive throughout the weekend to benefit the Agape House charity in Big Sandy which serves around 100 local families in need. We encourage everyone who attends to donate canned goods and/or non-perishable food items for the canned food drive.
