Lessons from the Elephant Man

This message captures the poignant story of Joseph Merrick, a young man who lived in London in the late 1800s and had a very disfiguring disease.   His life's story was the basis of the 1980 film The Elephant Man.   Three lessons are drawn from his story:  1) what is man?, 2) importance of character over appearance, and 3) putting compassion into practice.
