Abraham and Isaac, God and Jesus Christ

Today I want to focus on a specific event in the bible that has great meaning for our Passover preparation. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ was foreshadowed two thousand years in advance by this event in the life of Abraham and his son Isaac. We’ll see that Abraham represented the role of God the Father, and Isaac represented the role that Jesus would fulfill in Jesus’ future sacrifice, death, and resurrection. And just as both Fathers were willing to sacrifice their Sons of Promise, and both sons were willing to be sacrificed, each of us needs to ask ourselves this time of the year, “Am I willing to give myself totally and completely to God, no matter what He asks of me?”
