An Air France flight from Brazil to Paris crashed into the Atlantic a while back because the pilot was blinded to his situation, and became confused about where he was. It is vitally important for us to have true spiritual vision of our situation in life and to avoid spiritual blindness. We need the spiritual vision to see the reality of God's mercy and love for us per Romans 8:1-2, 31"There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, .... If God is for us, who can be against us?"; while also seeing our human nature (Romans 7) and need to change (like the "certain ruler" of Luke 18:18-23).

Mark Rorem

Mark Rorem (1948-2017) was an elder in the United Church of God, serving primarily in the Oakland congregation. He was a graduate of Ambassador College.  He and his wife, Linda, had three children.  He grew up in Mexico City, and assisted in various aspects of the Spanish language efforts of the Church. He was a practicing attorney since 1979.  He was ordained an elder in 2000.
