We are blessed not to carry the burden of our sin if we believe God’s offer of salvation. If we honestly seek God’s forgiveness, Christ takes that load from us. On the other hand, if we stubbornly cling to our own righteousness, we will pay the penalty for our sin. In Psalm 32, David describes the crushing weight of sin that was on him until he confessed. This helps us to understand that to be free of guilt, we must quickly confess our sins.

Andy Diemer is the pastor of the Fort Myers, Florida congregation and the associate pastor serving the congregations in Ft. Lauderdale and Vero Beach, Florida. He served as the pastor of the churches in New England from 2014 to 2021. He was baptized into the Church in 1981 and ordained as an elder in 2011. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Cleveland State University. He had a thirty-year career in manufacturing before being hired by the UCG in 2014.
