We continue our study into the book of Daniel. This time we will be focused on chapter 8.
So good evening everyone. We are in Daniel chapter 8. So if you would turn to Daniel chapter 8, we'll begin there this evening. Daniel chapter 8. In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, a vision appeared unto me, unto me Daniel. See this is the third year. According to Bullinger, Belshazzar only served two years. Remember Belshazzar was a co-regent with Namanizer. And he wasn't the rightful, he wasn't the heir, but he was appointed king for a season.
So in the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, so it has to do with the very end of that year, of his second year, a vision appeared unto me, unto me Daniel after that, which appeared unto me at the first.
So in the first year, remember there was a vision, and it was sort of along the same lines as one that he saw in chapters 7 that we talked about.
First two, and I saw in a vision and it came to pass when I saw that I was at Sushan in the palace. Now the commentators have a great debate over where was Daniel when this occurred. Some say that he was transported in a vision to the palace in Sushan and some say that he was literally at Sushan. And Sushan or Susa was a capital of Persia. And it goes on to say, which is in the province of Elam. Now Elam, the name Elam is quite frequent in the Bible. It was also, Elam is also a descendant of Shem. And of course, the Shemites and the Caucasians basically spring from Shem. And I saw it a vision and I was by the river of Yuli, and Yuli is a river in Persia.
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw and behold, there stood before the river a ram. Of course the angel is going to interpret the vision later on, which we will talk about. But as we go along, I will also say what it represents.
Before the river a ram. This ram of course is the Medo-Persian Empire, which had two horns and the two horns are Medo-Persia or Media in Persia. And the horns were high, but one was higher. And the higher horn was Persia. Persia eventually took over media and media basically disappeared from history. One horn was higher than the other and the higher came up last.
So the Median Empire was the first and then the Persian, but the Persian became the principal empire.
I saw the ram pushing westward.
Of course, his point of origin is from the east and he's pushing westward. He's pushing toward the Holy Land. So I saw the ram pushing westward and northward and southward so that no beast, no power might stand before him. Neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand.
But he did according to his will and became great. So at one time the Persian media empire was a great, great empire that ruled over so much of the territory that we now call the Middle East. They're also Western Asia.
One of the things that is very interesting, which we haven't mentioned except when we were covering the Book of Isaiah, if you turn to Isaiah 13, you will see there that media plays an important role at the end of the age.
So Isaiah 13 verse 1, the burden of Babylon, which Isaiah, the son of Amos, or Amos did see, lift up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them that shake the land that they may go into the gates of nobles.
I have commanded my sanctified ones. I have called my mighty ones for my anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
The noise of the multitude in the mountains like as of great people, a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations, gathered together, the Lord of hosts mutters the host of the battle.
So on the one hand, this sounds even like the great battle, the great day of God Almighty, as recorded in Revelation 16.
They come from afar country, from the end of the heaven, even the Lord and the weapons of the Indian nation to destroy the whole land.
How you for the day of the Lord is at hand. So the time setting is the day of the Lord when God is directly intervening in the course of human events.
It shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore, shall all hands be fain and every man's heart shall melt, and they shall be afraid. Pains and sorrows shall take hold of them. They shall be in pain as a woman which prevails. They shall be amazed one at another. Their faces shall be held as flames.
Behold, the day of the Lord comes cruel, both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate, and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellation thereof shall not give their light.
Of course, this is Harkens to Revelation 6.12 and the introduction of the heavenly signs.
The sun shall be darkened and is going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil and the wicked for their iniquity, and I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
He goes on to talk about what he is going to do. In verse 17, then it switches to the Medes. Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them. And of course, the Medo-Persian Empire conquered Babylon in the days of Darius and Cyrus.
Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver, and as for gold, it shall not delight in it.
Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces.
Bows have to do with symbolized military weapons, and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb.
In other words, they're going to kill men, women, and children.
Their eyes shall not spare children, and Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the phallides, and excellently shall be as when you go over through Sodom and Gomorrah.
So you see that the Medes have been used historically, and they have destroyed Babylon.
And what is to come in the day of the Lord, as the first part of that chapter talks about, the nations from all over the world will be gathered together in Revelation 16 in the battle of the great day of God Almighty.
Here we see Media and Persia pushing westward, and they're going to be stopped, as we shall see, by Alexander the Great.
Now verse 5, I was considering behold, and ego came from the west on the face of the whole earth and touched not the ground.
Alexander's army moved so quickly that the description of it is that it touched not the ground.
He conquered mainly the known world.
You know, the first contact that Europeans really had with China was in the days of Marco Polo, and you can look at that.
And what that date was, it was well up into the days like 1270 or something like that.
And so in a lot of the Bible literature, the whole world, as they knew the whole world, is oftentimes mentioned.
And as I was considering behold, and he got came from the west on the face of the whole earth and touch not the ground, and the ego had a notice notable horn between his eyes.
And that notable horn that was between his eyes was Alexander the Great. Verse 6, and he came to the realm that had two horns, the Medo-Persian Empire, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
And I saw him come close unto the realm and he was moved with color, he was moved with anger.
He was moved with bitterness.
It has to do with Grievous, he was provoked and he came against, Alexander the Great came against the Medo-Persian Empire, because it was conquering everything in its wake as it moved toward the west.
So the ego came against him, Alexander the Great came against him and smote the realm and broke his two horns.
So Alexander the Great defeated the Medo-Persian Empire.
And remember in the statue that we saw in chapter two, in chapter two, it is introduced in a symbolic sense the ten toes that are a mixture of iron and clay representing ten nations.
And then chapter seven mentions ten nations, other places mention ten nations, Revelation 13, Revelation 17. So at the very end, so the prophecies in Daniel take us to the very end of days, as we shall see as we move along here this evening.
So no power was able to stand against Alexander the Great.
So we'll read seven and I saw him come close to the realm and he was moved with color against him and smote the realm and broke his two horns.
And there was no power in the realm to stand before him.
But he cast him down to the ground and stabbed him. There was none that could deliver the realm out of his hands.
So Alexander the Great's empire conquered Medo-Persian.
Therefore, that he go waxed very great. Alexander the Great and the Grecian Impo, it's called the Greco-Macedonian Empire.
Therefore, the Joe waxed very great.
And when he was strong, the great horn was broken. And so Alexander the Great met an untimely death. He died in his early thirties.
And it came and for it in the place of that horn, Alexander the Great, there came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
So Alexander the Great's empire was divided among his four generals. We will name those generals before we come to the angels interpretation of the dream or of the vision and of the word God.
And out of one of them came forth a little horn. So the final beast power comes out of these four.
And out of one of them came forth a little horn which waxed exceeding great toward the south and toward the east and toward the pleasant land.
The pleasant land, of course, is the Holy Land. It is the area where Jerusalem is and where Israel makes its home, the Holy Land.
And the little horn waxed great even to the host of heaven and it cast down the host and of the stars to the ground and stamped upon them.
So this one, this little horn has no regard for the things of God. It waxed great to the host of heaven.
Now, there was a type of fulfillment of this by Antigon's epiphanies in 167 B.C.
And Antigon's epiphanies placed the abomination of desolation or a abomination of desolation in the Holy Place and offered swine's blood on the altar.
So a type of this took place at that time.
According to Scripture, and that's what we have to go on, that toward the end of days, the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy of the 70-weeks prophecy, which is chapter 9 of Daniel, we shall see that some kind of covenant is made that allows the Jews to build a temple, and one sits in that temple proclaiming that he is God.
And we read those scriptures last time, Daniel 11. So the typical fulfillment of the back of the fulfillment was Antigon's epiphanies, but a greater than the final fulfillment of this is coming in a later time. Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host.
So you remember the blasphemies that we read about from Revelation 13, Revelation 13 verses 5 and 6, that this end time beast power, and that's what the little horn is, is the end time beast power. That the little horn boasts itself against the very God of heaven and blasphemes the God of heaven. If you'll turn to Revelation 13, once again, Revelation 13, we'll review these scriptures several times. We need them firmly planted in our minds. Verse 1, we see 10 horns, and we see that the name of blasphemy is on the horns, the last word in verse 1.
And then you see in verse 2 that the devil gave him his authority, then he's wounded to death, then he comes back, he's given life again with us later in the chapter. They worshiped the dragon which gave him power, and they worshiped the beast, and they worshiped saying who is likely to be who is able to make war with him. Well, a lot of nations will not dare to make war because they know they cannot defeat such a power.
There was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemes and powers given unto him to continue 42 months or 1260 days or three and a half biblical years or biblical prophecy years. So this one cast down the truth to the ground and practice and prosper. Remember, we said that later in Daniel 8 that the little horn through flattery, through peace, through prosperity is able to deceive the whole world, and especially the Jewish people.
Then verse 13. Then I heard one saint speaking to another saint and said unto that certain saint which spoke, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice and the transgression of desolation to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden down underfoot. So how long is this activity of the little horn going to last. He said unto me, for 2300 days, then shall the sanctuary be cleanse.
Well I have searched, searched the literature on the web, the church's literature. We have one article on the church's literature written in 1960 by Dr. Hay, in which he attempts to answer the question of what is the 2300 days. You can read the entire article. All you have to do is go to the Herbert Armstrong searchable library, you put into your search apparatus, search engine, whatever you want to call it. Herbert Armstrong searchable library and the whole article that appeared in the Good News magazine in 1960 I don't know what month.
Here's what he writes, Bible interprets his little horn as a ruler, who shall exist at the second coming of Christ exclamation point. He comes on the scene when world transgressions world sin has reached its climax as described in Daniel 823. The little horn is described again in Revelation 1714. There we read that he makes war with the lamb and the lamb overcomes him with his allies. The little horn does the same thing as the final beast of Revelation.
And I have told you that at least three or four times. It is amazing that people don't seem to make gloss over things that they don't really follow up and follow the Berean path and prove all things whether or not these things be true and see they make the connections between prophecies in the Old Testament and prophecies in the New Testament.
Now we shall see more. Dr. Hayes article. In other words, I'm reading from his article now. In other words, here's a prophecy that 2300 evenings and morning sacrifices, which seems to be offered since the data sacrifice was offered twice a day. This prophecy is actually speaking of 1150 days and 1150 days there would be exactly 2300 sacrifices offered evening and morning. At the end of 1150 days, the sanctuary would be cleansed. And he talks about what the seventh day Adventist said, the doctrines of the sanctuary question and of the investigative judgment spawned by Ellen G.
White, the Seventh Day Embedist, it's utter blasphemy against God's throne. Anyone who believes that it was fulfilled then is deliberately throwing aside this testimony of Scripture itself. So, you see the angel coming on the scene to explain the explain the 2300 days. What Dr. Hay goes on to say, and whether or not this doesn't come out to be exactly 1260 days. In Daniel 1131 we see that the sacrifice is taken away. In Daniel 1210. We're close to Daniel 1210 we could read it.
And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away. There shall be 1390 days. Then it says and blessed is he that comes to the 1335 days. So the placing of the abomination that makes desolate is marks a countdown to the end of the age. So what's the right. What he is saying is this. He's saying once the final daily sacrifice is taken away. There will be 1150 in which it is not offered at the end of the age. Now if we whether you say that the last week of Daniel seven now listen closely.
Whether you say the last week of Daniel seven is includes seven years or it is divided into three and a half of Christ ministry which seems to be refuted by Daniel 926 which says at the end of 483 years at the end of 69 weeks or 483 years. The Messiah will be cut off. Then a, a covenant so there has to be some kind of peace treaty that allows the Jews to rebuild the temple and for this one, as noted in second test saloon ends to and various three to sit in the temple of God and proclaim that he is God.
But we did whichever way you look at it. After the abomination of desolation is taken away. There are 1260 days total. So you divide the 1260 days in which is three and a half years. So you have one and three quarter years, which equals three and a half years.
Now one and three quarters years doesn't actually measure up to what he's talking about. So, 1150 doesn't see you work out as far as the numbers are concerned. But that's the way it. That's what we have directly from old church literature. This was 1960. And in the. And we don't have anything a recent date with regard to officially what is the 2300 days it's all over the place. Some say that entire subpipanies fulfill this and others say that it is yet future. The Bible clearly states that it is yet future, as we shall see. And we'll pick it up again and Daniel eight 15.
I hope that you have taken notes and that you have questions we can have discussion. After this is over so that things are clear, and you don't misquote me on anything that has been said. The interpretation of the vision is given by the angel Gabriel. And he came to pass when I even I Daniel had seen the vision and saw it for the meaning. Then behold there stood before me as the appearance of a man but actually it was the angel Gabriel.
And I heard a man's voice between the banks of July, which came and said, Gabriel, and identify see the man is an angel messenger angel. Make this man understand the vision. So he came near where I stood and when he came I was afraid and fell upon my face, but he said unto me understand oh son of man, for at the time of the end, shall be the vision.
Now that word time of the end. The end means literally what it says. It is the end of any process. It is the extremity. It is the end in the Hebrews. The English spelling in Hebrew of the Hebrew is q e t s with a little house top over the E and it's pronounced Kate's, and it literally means at the end of the age, and the Dr.
He's article. He notes that it is at the end of the age in the near future he writes course 1960 we in 1975 and prophecy that was written shortly after that in the near future we shall see literally the great props to being for the Holy Land the daily sacrifice that we restored before our very eyes. Then we'll come World War Three and the occupation of the Holy Land and have Jerusalem. Says the Gentiles will try down to risk hundred and 60 days. It will be the time of the two witnesses you will prophesy in the streets of Jerusalem for 1260 days, then be killed and chill immediately before the return of Christ be raised from the dead in the side of the people they're caught up as you notice from the book of Revelation.
So we continue in Daniel chapter eight verse 18. So at the time of the end is the very end of the age that this vision takes place. Now as he was speaking with me I was in deep sleep on my face toward the ground, but he touched me and set me up right. And he said Behold, I will make you know what is what you'll be here after. And the last end of the Indian nation for the time appointed the end shall be once again the word.
Kate's q e t s, which is pronounced Kate's Kate. Yes, but it's spelled. Ram what you saw having two horns and the king are the kings of media and Persia. So that is very clear. I remember when I first read that this is Daniel chapter eight sometime I read this sometime around 1968 69.
And one of the main things that persuaded me to come to a master college, and to know that was a true church of God because I my second major was social studies and I often taught world history and American history. And historically, you know this is a fact from his history history records this fact there's no doubt about it that this happened.
Historically, the Ram which you saw having two horns are the kings of media and Persia. And the left goat is the king of Grisha Alexander the great and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king Alexander the great. Now that being broken he died as we said, whereas four stood up for kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. One going to come out of this as we read about the little horn. Now, Alexander's kingdom was divided among his four generals.
The four generals are Cassandra lysimacious solutions and Ptolemy. Once again Cassandra lysimacious spell L Y S I M A C H US solutions and Ptolemy. After some additional conflicts. And there's kind of quest we're finally divided between the solutions and Asia, and the colonies in Egypt. So, beginning with chapter 11 of Daniel. There's this warfare that goes on continually between the solutions and the tolerance, the king of the solution kings of which and Tigers was one who polluted the sanctuary, and was a type of what is to come.
So the kingdom was divided among the four generals that eventually the Bible mainly deals with the solution empire and the time of Ptolemaic Empire. So here's this in verse 23. And in the latter time of their kingdom. When the transgressors are come to the full, as we read from the article by Dr.
Hey, a king of fierce countenance and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And the power shall be mighty, but not by his own power, and he does shout destroy wonderfully and shall prosper and practice. So the word for destroy here means to corrupt he doesn't literally destroy them. He spoils them. He corrupts them. He puts them to waste. So the whole world is going to worship as we read from Revelation chapter eight, everyone whose names are not written in the land spoke of life we haven't read that tonight but we have read it in the past, everyone whose names are not written in the land spoke of life or worship.
The one who stands up. He shall destroy wonderfully shall prosper and practice and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. Once again, destroy means to corrupt or waste or spoil. And through policy through his policy. He shall cry cause craft to prosper. So once again, it is the, the dark side like with the seance where things float in the air, where magic is used. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand and he shall magnify himself in his heart. We read about from Daniel chapter 11 that he magnifies himself against God.
We read in second Thessalonians two three that he magnifies himself against God proclaims that he is God and by peace shall destroy many. Once again corrupt. He shall also stand up against the Prince of princes, but he shall be broken without hand. So an army is not what destroys him.
It is Jesus Christ. So we turn to Revelation 17 will begin in verse 12. We have read this more than one time. Revelation 17 beginning in verse 12. 10 horns, which you saw are 10 Kings. Remember this 10 and rebel in Daniel to 10 and Daniel 710 and Daniel 11.
It goes on and on. Revelation 1310 and Revelation 17 and 10 horns which you saw are 10 Kings, which I've received no kingdom is yet. Notice that no kingdom is yet. It's like that this beast power of points these people to be over these lands over these kingdoms regional powers, but receive power as kings. Notice that power as kings.
One hour with a beast. We talked about last time. Do we know how long one hour is of course we don't know. These have one mind and shall give their power and strength. And it would be. These shall make war with the lamb and the lamb shall overcome them. So like a Daniel chapter eight. This one makes war with the lamb.
Makes war with a lamb in verse 25. Daniel 825. They shall make war with the lamb and the lamb shall overcome them for he is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. And they are they that are with him are called and chosen and faithful, and they're going to fight the battle of the great day of God Almighty as recorded in Revelation 16. And now we go to verse 27.
Well let's read. Let's read the back 25 again. Make sure we have a connection. I'm reading what the Bible says. And there are different people that say different things. And there are people who try to make this commentators who try to make this historical. There are commentators who try to make it 50 days of entire us. We have read what basically what Dr. Hayes says. He says it's 2300 sacrifices offered twice a day so 1115 once the abomination of desolation is set up the final one.
There'll be 1150 days. But the prophecy is really divided into the pins on whether if you say it's just the last three and a half years. Well even there you have problems. You have problems either way you go. Whether or not there's a we know there has to be some kind of treaty that is set up for that allows the Jews to rebuild a temple and for animal sacrifice to be restored.
Can you imagine what would happen to when Peter and some of these others societies. You learn about animals sacrifice what kind of protest going to be waged against that. You see there's a lot of things that have to happen and a lot of changes that have to be made before the final end of things. We read 25 a year and through his policy also he shall cause crowd to prosper magic. The Unknown World the dark world.
So crowd prospers in his hand he shall magnify himself in his heart and by peace shall corrupt many. The world stand up against the Prince of princes. We read Revelation 1714 where the end time he stands up against the Prince of princes, but he should be broken without hand and Revelation 19 shows that by the word, the sword by the word that goes out of the mouth of God.
These people seem to melt away. We know the beast and the false prophet are cast in the lake of fire. This is plainly in Daniel chapter, meaning Revelation 19. The vision of the evening and the morning, which would which was told is true. Wherefore shut you up the vision for it shall be for many days. It's a true vision, but shut it up it shall be for many days. And I Daniel painted and was sick. Certain days afterward I rose up and did the King's business.
And I was astonished as a vision, but non understood it. But I hope we understand that it is an end time vision. And no one really to my to my understanding has offered a ironclad explanation of the 2300 days.
Dr. Hayes treatment of his nearest thing I found which is basically what we've said here tonight, that there's a little horn that comes up among them is the end time beast. We'll read it once again. In a little eight and verse 10. And it was great even to the host of heaven. And it cast some of the host of the stars to the ground and stamped upon them. Well I want to back up even farther than that. And I was out of the four divisions came a little horn, which wax exceeding great toward the south toward the east and toward the pleasant land. And it works great even to the host of heaven and cast him down.
You know Satan tried to take over the throne of God as recorded. And I said in Isaiah 14. Now is there 14. He said I will exalt myself over the throne of God over the stars and throne of God. Let's turn to Isaiah 14. We will see that Isaiah 14. And we'll start in verse 12. As a 14 verse 12. For this one this one who was the morning star becomes Lucifer.
Isaiah 14 verse 12. How are you falling from heaven or Lucifer said in the morning. You're cut down to the ground and which did we can the nation's for you said in your heart I will ascend into heaven. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.
I will shut set also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. I will be like or I will actually what he said I will take the place of the most high God.
I will be the chief ruler and his goal of course is we've said many times is get the whole world to worship him. We're going to end there for this evening. And we will now hopefully we will have some good discussion on what we have covered here this evening. Anybody have any question or comment. We have a straight in our minds. Daniel nine which comes up next also covers some of the same grounds because we have to go over some of the same material again. So you're saying that that's possibly seven years not three and a half years.
Well the Bible says if we turn to Daniel nine twenty six. They don't like twenty six. And after three score in two weeks. Three score in two weeks. So that's sixty two and you have to add in the forty nine which has to do with the building of Jerusalem. So that's sixty nine weeks and seven times sixty nine is forty three. And after three score and two weeks plus the forty nine is forty nine and sixty two make eighty three makes them make sixty nine weeks.
And the seven make sixty nine weeks and a day for a year. So seven times sixty nine is four hundred eighty three. And after three score and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off.
He just plainly says that he's crucified her and he's he's cut off at the end of sixty nine weeks. But there are some that claim that verse twenty seven. And he shall confirm the covenant for many with many for one week and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. And for the overspreading of a dumb abomination so on. And so did Christ confirm a covenant with anybody for three and a half years without the shedding of blood. There is no remission of sin. Every covenant is ratified by blood. I know in the talks about that in Hebrews nine. Now let's go back to twenty six. Twenty six and after sixty nine weeks shall Messiah be cut off.
I'm adding the seven from above. Not for himself. Not for himself and the people of the prince shall come and destroy the city. Well Jesus Christ didn't come and destroy the city and Roman armies did. And the sanctuary in the end there shall be with a flood. The military destroyed it. And until the end of. The end of the war. Desolations are determined. Now in verse twenty seven. He shall confirm the covenant. Most commentators say that confirmation of the covenant was the peace treaty that allowed the Jews whether or not there's a covenant or not or whether or not. I don't find in scripture anywhere in the New Testament that says anything about Jesus confirming a covenant. I don't know anything about where it does say that. He shall confirm the covenant with me for one week. And in the mess. He can't confirm it for one week if he's cut off in the middle of the week. And in the middle of the week. He should cause a sacrifice and the oblation to cease. Well Jesus didn't cause the oblation and sacrifice to seize. He did cause after the New Testament church began in Acts two. It was no longer necessary for the sacrifice and oblation to be done. It was by faith in the sacrifice of Christ that you were justified. He shall cause a sacrifice and the oblation to cease. You see even the Apostle Paul when he came back to Jerusalem one time. James said you need to go up to the temple and go through the washings because the people are saying you're teaching against the law of Moses.
And so Paul went up and went through the washings and oblations. After the Christ was crucified and resurrected. And he even in the, even in the millennium. The sacrificial system is restored and we are yet to know exactly why it's probably to remind us what was necessary in order for sins to be remitted. And for the over spreading of abominations, he shall make it desolate, even into the consummation and that determine should be poured upon the decimal. When Christ didn't do any of that. Christ didn't make the sanctuary for desolate.
He didn't make it until it's desolate. The abomination of desolation desolated the holy place. I'm saying is whether you, whether you believe it's Christ and verse 27 of where you believe it is the one that makes the covenant that allows them to do the peace treaty. You have the, the abomination desolation being placed in the, in the countdown beginning and God directly intervening. Thank you. Let's hear from somebody. You have a follow up there, Ken. Well, Dr. Ward, I, I think we're, we're all like Daniel there in, in chapter 12 verse eight, he says, my Lord, what shall be the end of these things.
And then, you know, he says in the very last verse, you know, go your way till the end, or you shall rest and arise to your inheritance at the end of the days. And, you know, we're just not going to know, not going to know at all. But, you know what, when we do get our inheritance when we arise to it then, then we'll know the end from the beginning. Well that is certainly true. Yeah. Well we, if we use common sense and sound reasoning. You know there has. How are the Jews going to be able to build a temple.
There may be warfare. And some people talk of World War Three. He talks about it is his article. Let me read a little more from his anyone who believes that it was fulfilled. He says, I'm never really throwing aside the testimony of Scripture itself some people would rather put the words of the self style prophetess in place in a very word of God. It's time we opened our minds this time we certain now our hearts before God and repeated following the snares of Satan the devil.
And again to believe what the Bible says. The amazing profits, profits is about to be fulfilled a great crisis is yet to come in the holy land after nearly 19 centuries, a part of the tribe of Judah the Jews has come back to the holy land. And the penance again possession of the new part of Jerusalem. But the Arab still control old Jerusalem.
I've covered that that after the session seven war. I even took control of the temple Mount but gave it back over to the Arabs. And the Jordan is now the wife. That's what I call it WHF the walk the protectors and the authority over. I only have the Jews can't do any religious ceremony on the temple now. You can go on the temple now you can walk around and go from the gum with the rock down to the lock oximals back and all of that is 2023 and 30 acres there have read different numbers with her yard to the acreage.
But in common sense, in order, as a present time there's no way that you can build a temple. It's just not possible. So, how will they be able to do it. Well if there's warfare and you conquer everybody. Even then there at the end of warfare. There's usually papers signed and treaties made and so on, people given this or the other.
And so there has to, there has to be a time that will have a pseudo piece. Daniel. Not Daniel but Ezekiel 13. When they say peace peace there isn't peace. They don't prepare it. I'm quoting loosely now Ezekiel 13. The prophets of Israel have not prepared people for the day of the Lord. When they say peace peace and there is no peace. And then Daniel, not Daniel I keep saying that in the second test audience five now five not two and five the apostle Paul is writing he says that when they shall say peace, peace, safety, sudden destruction shall come upon them.
There is apparently a pseudo peace coming at some stage. And then it all falls apart the sacrifice ceases abomination set up a countdown and Daniel 12 begins. It will be a very trying time. That's why I was going to say and when there is a time of peace, you know the Bible does warn us you know be careful when you say peace and safety, you know, then when what happens then, well sudden destruction comes upon you.
That's why we have to watch and we have to be aware and always be ready for whatever is to come. I would encourage everyone to read that Ezekiel 13 and I'll read a few verses. I'm not a man prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy and say, under them that prophesy of their own hearts. Hear the words of the Lord.
Of course before the means of the Persians conquered Babylon. They false prophets back in Israel who were religious leaders were saying that, and religiously by religious leaders I don't mean leaders in the church of God. I mean your leaders in the world. Thus says the Lord God willing to the foolish prophets that follow their own spirit and have not have seen nothing Israel your prophets are like foxes.
They have not gone up into the gaps need to made up the hedge for the House of Israel to stand in the battle of the day of the Lord. And these events that unfold mainly in Revelation are that time the day of the Lord. You know there are seven trumpet plays and that last trumpet play gives the battle of the great day of God Almighty. You read the Daniel I mean Ezekiel chapter 13 second testimony into five. Anybody else. We are so far from peace in the Middle East at the present time and allow that would allow the Jews to build a temple and an altar and someone to sit in the temple of God saying that he is God that it's practically.
We just stretches the imagination to even think that. Even scripture will happen. Anybody else. Dr. Ward, and I'm not Dr. Hayes paper. He says, at the end of this 1150 day period. The sanctuary is to be cleansed or justified. I don't understand what it means by the sanctuary. Is it the altar. A temple. A physical temple.
Yes. You know, we could say in one sense when Christ came and he began his ministry. He went to Jerusalem and he found in the temple on the Temple Mount, those who were selling buying and selling.
And he chased him out of the temple with a cord of whatever was rokes or whatever he used and said you made my house again. Dan avoid things or something like that. God placed his presence. You go back to what things are holy. The things are holy have God's active presence within them. We talk about the holy word of God. You have the John 663. The words I speak, they are spirit, and they are life.
So we're talking about the word being the living word. So the word of God is the holy, and we call the Bible holy. The holy Bible. Now, one of the things that has. I guess you might say played the church has to do with the revelation. What is revelation? What is not revealed. You can't say one day that God revealed this to me and the next day when more knowledge becomes available say, well, God is revealed something else to me. He may have revealed more to you about it. But you have to be careful when you say revelation. Most men, I would guess every minister when they get up there will say well, and we pray at the beginning of services that God would inspire what's transpires. May I say it in those words, but it's implied if not, that God would inspire everything that is said down here today. The sanctuary is where God places his presence.
You read the chapters in Ezekiel when Christ comes again. About the sanctuary and the rivers that go from it, the throne of God and all that. Then you have two terms you have that what is holy and what is sacred.
Sacred points to a higher reality. We sing sacred songs. Our songs are directed toward a higher reality. But the word of God is the holy Bible. The Holy Spirit is God's active presence. And we say that the saints are holy, which means they have the active presence of God in them. And where God has placed his presence. He placed his presence when the two temples. Well, back up. He placed his presence in the first temple that Solomon built. In the second temple when it was dedicated the second of glory did not appear in that temple. It was a type of them which was to come. And that was addressed by Mr. Shaw and toward the end of this ministry especially. I got to where the glory of this house shall be greater than the former house. Whereas it said earlier in Haggai, when you see this temple the restoration temple, how does it compare with the temple that was. Well there was no comparison between Solomon's temple and the second temple until Herod spent about 40 years restoring it and it was beautiful. By the time Herod got through with it. But that second temple says, is a, it's a type. It doesn't say this literally in so many words, but it was a type of that which is to come. Anybody else. Okay. Now, I can hear you. Can you hear me. Yes, I can. Okay. So I don't know what I bumped that I lost the vision there. I'm going back over and I'm not sure I've got all of the generals in order, I wanted to look up that part of history and some of my books. Okay, generals from Alexander Cassandra CSS and the are.
