The Book of Daniel - Chapters 7

Greetings everyone. Once again, we are in Daniel chapter 7. Daniel chapter 7 and the rest of the book of Daniel basically deals with the end times. Now with regard to Daniel chapter 7, if you want to go ahead and turn there to Daniel chapter 7. Daniel chapter 7 basically deals with the end times. Now Daniel chapter 7 in some ways is very similar to Daniel chapter 2. In chapter 2 we saw that Nebuchadnezzar and Babylon was the golden head. We saw then the silver belly of the Medo-Persian empire. Then we saw the brass thighs of Alexander the Great. We saw the iron mixed with clay picturing the Roman Empire. Then some commentators talk about the 10 toes. There are 10 nations that are mentioned with regard to the end times as we shall see in Revelation chapter 17. So we're going to pick it up now in Daniel chapter 7.

And we see in Daniel chapters 7 that this basically deals with the end times. This will become more clear as we go through it and we turn to scriptures that also are parallel to it.

In Daniel chapter 7 verse 1, in Daniel chapter 7 verse 1 in the first year of El Shazar.

Now one commentator, Bullinger says that Nebuchadnezzar had been dead for 23 years and that's important with regard to are these four these that come up contemporaries in other words existing at the same time or are they separate. You know I have been studying Daniel and Revelation for about almost 70 years and in some ways it's very discouraging and in other ways it's very encouraging.

And I noticed in the literature that and I listened to Mr. Shaby has a a new 10 minute I think as this one say like eight minutes and 50 seconds on the mark of the beast that we don't know for sure who the beast is. We don't know for sure who the 10 nations are that are going to join the beast power and give their allegiance to the beast power as it talks about in Revelation 17. So what we can do is try to do the best we can in trying to understand the verses that are before us and try to with regard to scriptures that relate to this read them and discuss them as well. So in the first year of Bell Shazar king of Babylon remember that Bell Shazar was the son of Nabonizar and Nabinidus and Nabinidus had gone to Saudi Arabia and left Bell Shazar in charge. We talked about that when we covered Daniel chapter five last time. Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed then wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters. So this was written down Daniel didn't want to forget it evidently and tried to capture as much detail as he possibly could.

Daniel spoke and said I saw in my vision by night and behold the four winds of the heavens strove upon the great sea. Now it's important to note the the great sea because the great sea in biblical language means the troubled masses of humanity. The troubled masses of humanity.

It doesn't mean literally I guess it could in one or two cases perhaps mean that of the literal sea but beasts don't come out of the sea. The beasts are really human beings that rule over the sons of men. So these are beasts that come out of the troubled masses of humanity.

And four great beasts came up up on the sea different from one another. Each one was different in their own side. Now now Bullinger writes these are not the four dominions of Daniel two.

They stand up one after the other and each stand successively in the place of the other.

These are to arise in the days of those last kings of Daniel two forty four. These continue these continue the last of Nebuchadnezzar's last dominion and do exist together and see note on Daniel seven twelve. So if we look at Daniel seven twelve down a few verses and we'll come right back to verse three after we look at Daniel seven twelve. Daniel seven twelve and concerning the rest of the beast they had their dominion taken away and yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. So these beasts are in existence in the end times as we shall see. So they are still existing. Now we want to go to Revelation chapter thirteen and see also that these beasts are the same ones that come up and then we'll read those that come up in Daniel thirteen. In Revelation thirteen and verse one we'll see that they come up out of the sea and that they are the same ones that are mentioned in Daniel chapter seven. And Daniel in Revelation thirteen one and I stood upon the sea sand of the sea and saw a beast rise up out of the sea having seven heads and ten horns.

And we know that in Revelation seventeen that ten kings give their power over to the beast power for a short period of time and upon his horns ten crowns and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

A blasphemy is one of the characteristics of this in time beast because it is really Satan the devil that the world is worshiping. What this is all about is Satan trying to get the world to worship him and for a short period of time the world does worship the beast power.

And the beast which I saw was likened to a leopard. They're not in the same order as given in Daniel seven but we'll see that in just a moment. And his feet were as the feet of a bear and his mouth as the mouth of a lion and the dragon that is Satan the devil that was dragon Satan the devil revelation twelve nine. So the devil is the one who is behind this who actually possesses the beast power and men thinking that they are worshiping Christ that everyone whose names are not written in the Lamb's book of life are going to be deceived by this one that comes up and claims to be Jesus Christ.

And the dragon gave him his power and his seat and great authority.

So we go down to we want to follow up with this right now with the blasphemy in verses five and six. There was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies and power was given unto him to continue forty two months or three and a half years or twelve hundred and sixty days.

And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God to blaspheme his name.

So this doesn't seem to be any one that is associated with true Christianity unless the Christian world becomes so deceived that they worship a man thinking that this man is God and that somehow the Bible is in error.

Now I want you to notice and to make you aware of what happened recently that media outlets and Time magazine in particular pronounced Donald Trump to be the man of the year, the person of the year.

While this decision is sure to anger people who see Trump as dangerous or a buffoon, time said the president elect perfectly aligns with criteria for choosing the individual who for better or for worse did the most to shape the world and the headlines over the past twelve months.

So what is happening is Trump is actually being deified. One of the terms that is that is used by Time magazine is apotheosis, a-p-o-t-h-e-s-o-s-i-s, apotheosis, which literally means describing God-like qualities to a person. He's being deified as the savior of the world. I heard him say myself this week he said over 100 leaders of nations abassed to come to the inauguration. The world in all areas are bowing to him including finance, high-tech, social media, governments all over the world. Only a few major powers have not bowed among them are China, Russia, North Korea, Iran and Turkey.

But that brings up an interesting point that I mentioned to you earlier that the United States under the NATO agreement of nuclear sharing that they have given to store or to deploy. Notice this to store or deploy nuclear weapons. They've given nuclear weapons to Belgium. Belgium is the side of the headquarters of the United States of Europe, to Germany, to Italy, to the Netherlands and to Turkey. So five nations have been given and all five of these nations are members of NATO and of course NATO is big in the news with regard to their supposedly unified stance against Russia in the Ukraine war. So it's all about worship as I said earlier.

In Revelation 13.4 back there again they worshiped the dragon. They worshiped Satan. That's been Satan's desire from the very beginning. You notice Revelation 8.

Revelation 13 verse 8. Revelation 13 verse 8. And all that dwell upon the earth. It didn't say some in one particular area. It didn't say some in South America, North America or Europe or Asia or any other place. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him.

His names are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. So we see very clearly from this that it's all about worship.

Later on when they make an image of the beast, it's everyone that doesn't bow down and worship the beast. It's going to be either worship the beast or be killed. And as we talked about earlier, the statue that Nebuchadnezzar had built, it doesn't say it was representing him but it seems to me obvious that it was representing him. It is a type of what is to come. That is, this one, this beast power is going to be so deceitful that he will deceive the whole world into worshiping him. And Matthew 24.24 says, and those that do not and all the world is going to worship this one, except those who are the very elect. So we want to make sure that we are among the very elect. And now we will go back to Daniel chapter seven. So we see that these beasts, the leopard, the bear, the lion come up in Revelation 13, just like they do in Daniel chapter seven, and they come up out of the sea. So we talked about what the great sea represents and what it's symbolic of is trouble masses of humanity that just human beings are upset all over the world. They are in a state of anxiety wondering what is going to happen next.

And four great beasts came up from the sea, different from one another. Now verse four in Daniel chapter seven. The first was like a lion. Of course, lion is symbolic of strength.

And of course, it talks about in Revelation 13 that the lion had a mouth.

And the mouth is what blasphemes the God of heaven and all those that dwell therein as we read from Revelation 13 verses five and six and had eagle's wings and I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked. And it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand upon the feet as a man and a man's heart was given to it. Now if you had to say in modern times, most of the commentaries will say that these four beasts are reflective of the four beasts of Daniel chapter two. And so they are reflective of Daniel chapter two, but they're also a part of the composite beasts at the end of the age as we read from Revelation 13.

Now if you had to say, now what modern countries, and this is speculation, of course, which we're told basically not to do. But if you had to speculate and say what these nations, these animals represent in the modern sense, what would you say?

Well, the lion, if you were to go to Buckingham Palace and you see the changing of the guards, all over England, there are lions. What is the national symbol of the United States?

It is an eagle. And what was swift and conquered most of Europe almost overnight? Well, Germany and the German army are conquered most of Europe. And what do we say about the bear? Time after time, you will hear the Russian bear. But of course, these can be attributed to before nations or kingdoms that were a part of the statue and Daniel two. Babylon was noted for lion and for eagle. And then the Medo Persian Empire, walking into a bear. And then Alexander's Empire was like an end to a leopard. And it had four divisions, which we'll talk about a little later. Now we come to verse five and behold another beast, a second light to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side. So as we mentioned, the lion could represent Babylon, or it could represent a modern state. The bear could represent Medo Persian or a or a modern state.

So it raised up on one side and it has three ribs in the mouth. And the commentators are all over the place with regard to the three ribs. I do not know what the three ribs are.

And I have searched this for many years, try to find out but I don't know.

Thus unto it arise devour much flesh and was said to the bear. After this I beheld and lo, another like a leopard. Of course Alexander's army was quick and by the age of 31 he would had conquered most of the known world all the way from parts of Europe to India.

After this I beheld and lo, another like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl and the bees had four heads and dominion was given to it. Now when Alexander the Great died, as we'll read from Daniel chapter eight a little later, maybe next time, Alexander the Great's empire when he died, there was not a dynasty set up. In fact Alexander the Great's mother was not accepted by the Greek people. She was a woman that they called a real repute, not even from Greece. Alexander the Great's empire was divided among his four generals after his death. The four generals are Cassander, Lyca Mecus, and Seleucius and Ptolemy.

Now these, even these, ward among themselves but the two prominent ones in the Bible are the Seleucids and the Ptolemies. The Seleucids and the Ptolemies ward one with another almost for decades trying to determine which one would be the greatest.

Now one of the things that we have not really spent much time on, won't spend much time now, has to do with the times of the Gentiles. If you have read in scripture the times of the Gentiles.

The times of the Gentiles mean the times in which the Gentiles rule over the earth.

The last king of Judah, the last king as far as the Bible denotes kings of Israel or Judah, was that of Zedekiah in 586, some say 587, different dates are given there with regard to who was the last king of Judah or of Israel. Remember that the Assyrians had taken the northern kingdom, the ten tribes captive in from 721 to roughly 718 BC and Judah continued for another 120 years or so, but eventually became even more wicked than Israel had been the northern kingdom.

So once again Daniel 7 basically deals with the end times. Daniel 2 is a overview of history and totality ending up with the ten nations that are crushed by the great stone which is Jesus Christ when he comes again. So Alexander the Great was like a leper that his kingdom was divided into four divisions when he died and really there was a battle that ensued between the St. Lucids and the Ptolemies which we will talk about more when we come to especially Daniel chapter 11. After this I saw in the night visions, this is Daniel 7 and verse 7, after this I saw in the night visions and beheld a fourth beast dreadful and terrible and strong exceedingly and of course the Roman Empire was that and it had great iron teeth and to bire and break in pieces, it break in pieces and stamp the residue with the feet of it and it was different from all the beasts that were before it and it had ten horns.

And I saw in the night visions and behold a fourth beast and these bees shall arise, they come later.

After this I saw in the night vision behold a fourth beast, a fourth beast before a in front of as in verses Daniel 7 10, 7 20 and so on.

And it was different from all other beasts and I considered the horns and behold there came among them another little horn. Now the little horn is the end time beast, the little horn is the end time beast. I considered the horns and behold there came up among them another little horn before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots. In our literature in the past we said that the vandals, the heroly and the ossargoths came and sacked Rome and the first Roman Empire as far as the official date is given was 476 and we have talked about a revival of the Roman Empire.

But this what is going to arise are from all over the world as noted in Revelation chapter 17 that these 10 kings give their allegiance to the beast for one hour. Now we see more about the time setting, being held to high, be held to the thrones were cast down and the ancient of days did sit.

The ancient of days of course is God, God the Father whose garment was white as snow and of course a description of Jesus Christ who spoke in Revelation chapter one is depicted as having hair as white as snow. Daniel John, the apostle John, had a vision of the throne of God in Revelation chapter four for a brief period of time he saw the throne of God. I beheld till the thrones were cast down in the ancient of days whose God the Father whose garment was white as snow and hair of his head like the pure wool his throne like the fiery flame and the wheels as burning fire. You remember from Ezekiel chapter one that you see the throne of God moving from place to place in Ezekiel. There are several references in Ezekiel where the throne of God moves about. The wheels are depicted in Ezekiel 1 15, Ezekiel 1 26, Ezekiel 1 10 and verse 9 through 13. So all of Ezekiel chapter one basically and Ezekiel chapter 10 verses 10 through 13 deal with the wheels. That's just the side points to show you that the wheels depicted that which carries the very throne of God.

And I beheld till the fourth thrones were cast down and the ancient of days did sit whose garment white as snow. So eventually of course the thrones the lion the eagle the bear the one that is so ferocious all are cast down and they're crushed by this stone without hands and the kingdom is given to the saints and after that happens there is this judgment by the ancient of days. So the ancient of days did sit. I'm reading the Bible I'm not making this up. I'm beheld till the thrones were cast down and the ancient of days did sit whose garment was white as snow and his hair of his head like the flame and wheels as burning fire.

Ezekiel chapter one Ezekiel chapter 10 and a plierist stream issued and came forth from before him thousands thousands thousands of thousand thousands ministered under him and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. You see those numbers in Revelation chapter five as well where the thousands stand and praise God ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The judgments were was set and the books were open.

Of course we also see in Revelation 20 when the books were open and judgment remember what what the name of Daniel means and what the book of Daniel is about to a large degree. It's about judgment. Judgment is coming upon the times of the gentiles the times the times of man's rule. Satan has ruled through these gentile rulers through the ages.

Satan has ruled through the ages through these gentile rulers and God is going to crush them and bring them down. I beheld them because of the voice of the great words which the horns spoke I beheld until the beast was slain and his body destroyed and given to the burning flame. That picks up once again with the dream that he continues to dream and in Revelation 19 in the last two verses you see that the beast and the false prophet were cast into the lake of fire and here in Daniel 17 10 you see that at 1711 in 1711 that his body was given to the burning flame as in Revelation 19 the last two verses of Revelation 19.

As concerning the rest of the beast we'll say the rest of the beast you had the rest of the beast you had the lion you had the bear you had the leopard you had the iron one with the teeth of iron you had the tin toes you had the little horn the rest of the beast they had their dominion taken away yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time we don't know how long that season and a time is then Christ is given dominion in verse 13 and saw in the night visions and behold the son of man that is Jesus Christ time after time especially in the book of Luke he refers to himself as the son of man and the son of man came with the clouds of heaven the return of Jesus Christ and he came to the ancient of days and they brought him near before him and there was given him this is when Jesus Christ is given dominion over all as it talks about in first Corinthians chapter 15 when all things have been subdued and placed under the feet of Christ as in revelation not revelation but in first Corinthians 15 there was given to him dominion and glory and a kingdom and all people nations and languages should serve him his dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass away in his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed then Daniel's vision was interrupted Daniel was deeply grieved by what he saw and he was so grieved he he wondered what did all of this mean Daniel was grieved in my spirit verse 15 and in the midst of my body and the visions in my head troubled me you can imagine after seeing all of this what it must have done to him and what it would do to you I came near unto one of them that stood by and asked him the truth evidently an angel of this so he told me and made me to know the interpretation of the things so here is the angelic interpretation of what has transpired in the dream now every last aspect of what we have discussed so far is not in this but the bare bones of the interpretation of the dream is here and it is from the angel that stood near then I would know the truth of the fourth beast which was exceedingly different from all the beasts exceedingly dreadful whose teeth were iron his nails brass and devoured broken pieces and stamped a residue with his feet so there is coming and if you'll note in revelation 17 that in verse 14 it talks about the 10 nations are giving their dominion over their kinship over to the beast power which is a little horn for a time for a for a short period of time it says for a season for a very short period of time and they are going to have a complete dominion over the earth and everyone whose names are not written in the lamb's book of life will be will be destroyed so Daniel wanted to know about this beast that was different that stamped it that stamped the residue of everything under his feet and then verse 20 and of the 10 horns there were upon his head and the other which came up before him that's the little horn whom and there fell that horn that had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things whose lip was more stout than that of his fellows so that little horn is the one who is possessed by Satan the devil as we read in revelation chapter 13 he is the one who blasphemes the god of heaven he blasphemes the god of heaven and those that dwell therein in Daniel chapter 11 we read of this one so we will turn to Daniel chapter 11 and a verse will start at verse 32 we're somewhat breaking in on the thought but we will be able to capture most of it starting in 32 Daniel 11 32 and such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries now that's similar to what is in Daniel chapter 8 that the one who comes in and corrupts and the Jewish people and skip now and causes them to worship him is very similar by his five flatteries and by witchcraft and by magic that he does this and such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries but the people that know their god we can ask do we really know god shall be strong and do exploits and they that understand among the people shall instruct many yet they shall fall by the sword and by flame by captivity and by spoil many days so we have talked about captivity and going into captivity and we are praised that we would all be spared from any such captivity verse 34 and when they shall fall they shall be helped with a little help but many shall cleave to them with flatteries they'll pretend that they are of the true church of god but yet they really are not do you know that in the presidential race of 2015 when there were about 12 candidates there was Donald Trump there was um and there were several others there was the senator from Florida there was uh Kamala Harris there was uh Ben Carson the great neurosurgeon he he challenged Ben Carson the great neurosurgeon because he was uh a seventh day Adventist so when uh this this was going on Donald Trump during the campaign during this 2015 campaign in an appearance in a campaign appearance on a Saturday in Florida sought to make an issue of Ben Carson's seventh day Adventist faith uh Trump went on to say I'm a Presbyterian Trump said boy that that's down the middle on the middle on of the road folks that's down the middle on the road folks in all fairness I mean seventh day Adventist I don't know about that so he made fun of he made fun of Ben Carson being a seventh day Adventist and as I as I've told you project 2025 and what Trump's goal is that of JD Vance and others for the first couple of years we're really going to like it because the barriers that we treasure are going to be upheld but as the news gets tighter and tighter and Christianity comes under scrutiny of Sunday worship more and more it's not going to be as pleasant perhaps as we thought and Sabbatarians especially just like Ben Carson was he was uh pointed out in 2015 by Donald Trump and he made fun of Ben Carson because he was a seventh day Adventist how much more will they make fun of us who stand for the truth if and when the time comes of course better not shake Ben Carson's faith or truth you don't hear much about Ben Carson anymore I mean he is you can go on YouTube and you can hear and see him but you don't hear much about him and they that understand I'm reading this verse again verse 33 and they that understand among the people shall instruct many yet shall they fall by the sword and by flame by captivity and spoil many days now when they shall fall they should be helped with a little help but many shall cleave to them with flatteries and some of them of understanding shall fall to try them and to purge and to make them quite even to the time of the end and it literally means the end of this age because yet it is for a time appointed I don't know if some of you maybe remember the sermon I gave on the appointed time there is an appointed time and the king shall do according to his will and he shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god and shall speak great marvelous things against the god of gods the blasphemies that we talked about in revelation 13 and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished for that that is determined shall be done we hope that we are not a part of that neither shall he regard the god of his fathers for that sentence there are some people think well perhaps the little horn the beast the one who does all of this is a jewish descent because it talks about the god of his fathers well jewish descent goes who knows who all is just descended from the jews perhaps from the dnn the dna testing of modern times they could find out neither shall he regard the god of his fathers nor the desire of women nor regard any god he will not regard any god as it talks about in second thessalonians chapter 2 he sits in the temple of god proclaiming that he is god but in his estate shall he honor the god of forces the god of forces means the god of munitions the military power and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold with silver with precious stones and pleasant things in other words will give himself over to a dollar three thus shall he do in the most strongholds with a strange god whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory and he shall cause them them to rule over many and and shall divide the land for gain eventually jerusalem will be divided as it talks about in revelation 11 verse the verse of five or six verses in revelation clearly says that it is given over to the gentiles uh perhaps we should go to revelation 11 and read that and we'll see that it is given over to the gentiles for a period of of time in revelation chapter 11 in revelation chapter 11 we begin in verse one in revelation 11 verse one there was given me a read like unto a rod and the angel stood saying arise and measure the temple of god and the altar and then the worship therein with the court which is without the temple leave out and measure not for it is given unto the gentiles it is given unto the gentiles to the gentiles and the holy city shall they tread under foot 42 months and then i will give power and divide to witnesses so they are going to divide the land for gain now we go back to daniel chapter 7 and so we see that the angel has brought forth the interpretation of the dream that daniel had and we're reading about that interpretation also reading relevant verses that go along with that interpretation daniel chapter seven daniel chapter seven i'm back there now now daniel chapter seven we see that the angel is giving the interpretation we saw the the father's throne we saw that jesus christ was given dominion over everything we saw that the fourth beast comes on the scene he's the one that speaks against every everybody and everything we saw daniel 720 the ten horns a horn which had eyes and a mouth and spoke great things whose look was more stout than that of his father's and we saw from from daniel chapter 11 we saw from revelation 13 the one who blasphemes and i saw and he made war with the saints as in revelation chapter 13 and until the ancient of days came and judgment was given to the saints of the most high so eventually the gentile power ends and the judgment is given into the saints and the time came that the saints possess the kingdom so gentile rule ends at that time when the kingdom is handed over to god hands the kingdom over to god and to the saints then the fourth beast shall shall be the fourth kingdom upon the earth which shall be different from all kingdoms shall devour the whole earth shall tread it down and break it in pieces i mean the earth is going to be in such a terrible condition that the church as it talks about in isaiah chapter 61 the church is going to be in mourning in that during that time because the time will be so terrible and we will be crying out how long oh lord how long till the end of all of this comes you know in luke his version of the of the alibit prophecy it says in your patience possess you your souls and it will require a lot of patience and a lot of faith to live it through the time that lies ahead and he shall speak great words against the most high and think to change times and laws and they shall be given into his hand until the time and times and abiding of times so for three and a half years this one is going to have absolute power over the earth but the judgment shall set that which we have seen the judgment of god is coming and they shall take away his dominion to consume and to destroy and to the end and the kingdom and dominion and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the most high whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and all dominion shall serve and away him and hitherto is the end of the matter as for me daniel my connotations much trouble me and my accountant has changed in me but i kept the matter in my heart so we come to the conclusion chapter seven of course we could spend more time in it a lot of the material is repetitive as i've said before uh daniel chapters eight nine ten and eleven twelve are somewhat repetitive of of revelation eleven especially and thirteen and seventeen and nineteen and so on it goes okay that's the end of the study for this evening now we'll entertain any comment or question you have for many of you um not toward the one an hour that the uh the 10 uh kings have power i assume that's not man's hour it's based upon an hour of god in time is that correct we uh i mean we don't know how long an hour in god's timing is yes what verse is it is 17 is 11 or 12 or 14 it's one of those in revelation well i had it here and revelation 17 i got it in this bible i've started verse 12 the 10 horns which you saw are 10 kings received no kingdom as as yet now that's strange it it looks it sounds like from just reading this that the um that this super one appoints the heads of these 10 kingdoms the 10 kingdoms which you saw are 10 kings who have received no kingdom as yet but they receive authority for one hour as kings with a beast as verse 12 these are one mind and they will give their power and their authority to the beast and they will make and these will make war with the lamb and the lamb will overcome them of course the lamb we have the great contrast between the beast the animals that represent the kingdoms of satan and the gentiles and the gentiles that doesn't mean that people get nervous i think of people who are of jewish to send or israelite sense the word the gentile is ethnos and it can mean everybody everybody the rule of mankind will end with the kingdom of god being established whether there is jew gentile or any other ethnic group it all ends with the establishment of the kingdom of god these will make war with the lamb the lamb will overcome come them for he is lord of lords king of kings and those that are with him are called these are the saints that come with him as depicted in revelation 19 after the wedding supper of the lamb in the revelation 19 those that are with him are called chosen and faithful so i i don't know how long an hour is in bible times it doesn't say well would it be something as simple as a thousand years uh to man is a day to god and you could uh calculate that down to get an hour it wouldn't be that simple would it i doubt it because if you have a year for a day you'd have a um an hour is 1 24th of a day that would be a very short period of time yeah okay i guess we'll we'll find out someday yeah anybody else have a question or comment it just shows you that how much we don't know the more i get into it the less i i can say that need a whole lot more study i mean the people that don't avail themselves the to the opportunities that are before them right now are going to regret it one of these days because in one sense we don't know anything as we should know you know way back we we wrapped it all up so mr armstrong knows everything he has a direct pipeline to god we don't have it we just listen to what he says and that's all there is to it then we started reading your bible and we wondered what on earth do all these things mean then we see that this means this and that means that and so on it goes so you know i had no idea the sea was had no idea why that the sea the first part of the daniel always reading the sea is the humanity of the world i never had seen that connection before the trouble masses of humanity arises these kingdoms i mean don trump was elected by the trouble masses of humanity any almost any king or ruler that comes on to power and most of them claim they're going to solve all of your problems and they have different methods and different things and as i said i think with the first couple of years depending on whether or not he gets his cabinet appointments we're going to be very pleased with the trump administration but as it goes along more and more is going to point toward a stricter and more enforced sunday kind of worship and you know a long time the the seventh day adminess and the church of god mr armstrong that the mark of the beast was had to do with the sabbath keeping and if you don't keep um sunday you don't get to buy or sell if you worship on the sabbath and of course that that could be coming when i and i've told this story before when i was a child the blue laws were in effect the liquor stores were closed and so were the retail stores for the most part there were a few gas stations open and that was it yeah you didn't have you didn't have ball games you didn't have all this stuff going on all day sunday you didn't have the nfl played on sunday afternoon major league baseball play and sunday afternoon starting in i don't know what it was 30s or 40s but before that you didn't even have that and when i was even after i got married when i was 21 years old well no actually i was 23 i went fishing on a sunday afternoon and caught fish my aunt said oh boy who's the finisher the devil and uh it hasn't been all that long in the early 50s most everybody went to church and the early 40s the mid 40s we didn't have a vehicle and we walked a mile and a well actually as opposed to two miles to church and only meant once or twice a month so things have changed so drastically this other week i heard president trump on uh newsmax this week say uh make the comment on how this nation needs to get uh back to god and be praying more and going i don't remember if he said going to church but he said god needs to be the center of uh our beliefs yes he's going to be saying that over and over again that's the direction they're going that is their bottom line uh we will like it for a period of time but if they begin to clamp down on uh sabbath worship we won't like it and uh with all of that said um you know we say in the church we are apolitical and all of that jesus christ condemned the leaders of this day and uh john the baptist you know he had his head cut off because he challenged the um harrod and the woman he was with and said the woman you're with now is not your wife and they uh salami what do you desire and she desired the head of john the baptist on a platter
