Too often we feel we must carry the burden that comes with consequences - feelings of anxiety, anger, guilt, fear, frustration, etc. And the longer we carry these burdens the more impact they have on our spiritual growth. They can lead to physical maladies; sleeplessness, eating disorders, headaches, ulcers, depression, and the like. There is an answer. Jesus tells us to bring all our burdens to Him; He will give us rest and relief. And in exchange, we are to take up His yoke and His burden...to live God's Way of life, to follow God's command(ments). We are given the peace of mind that surpasses all (physical) understanding. The consequence of our actions may not go away, but the emotional burden can be given to God.
