An important aspect of loving our neighbor is to care for those who are needy, which includes the fatherless, orphans, widows and those in prison. In Matthew 25, a deciding factor in whether we’re considered a sheep or a goat, is to make sure we don’t neglect those around us. Are we developing a genuine love for our neighbor, as Christ did?

Doug Wendt is a 1977 graduate of Ambassador College with a BS in Physical Education. His career included work as an electrician and General Contractor. Doug was ordained into the ministry in 2013 and previously served congregations in Orlando, Jacksonville and Ocala, Florida. He now pastors the United Church of God congregations in St Petersburg and Tampa, Florida.
