The early chapters of the gospels show Jesus calling his disciples and commanding them to follow him. In this split-sermon Patrick McKee shows how we often limit the meaning of this command. We are told Jesus left us an example to follow, but we often limit this to following him in obeying, God, keeping the Sabbath, suffering patiently, etc. In this sermon Patrick, using the example of how a students related to their Rabbi at the time of Christ, shows us that following Jesus goes far deeper than this and shows us examples of how Jesus interacted with people that we need to follow in our lives.
