The Sabbath day is a sacred day, marked by a time of worship and devotion to God where believers can experience a deep connection with God and His teachings. However, if we prioritize our own pleasures over our relationship with God, we are breaking the Sabbath and commit idolatry. This idolatry is at the heart of all sin, as our willingness to esteem something higher than God and His way of life causes us to sin.
The Sabbath day is blessed and sanctified by God. He rested from all His creation and made it holy. If we treat the Sabbath day with disrespect, we insult God and miss out on the beauty of the Sabbath and His wonderful blessing of this day of rest that God made for man! Therefore, it is crucial to prioritize our relationship with God on His Sabbath day and reap the blessings of delighting in Him calling the Sabbath day a delight.
