Father of the Faithful

In You All Nations Shall Be Blessed

The sermon explains that Abraham is the “father of the faithful” because God’s promise to bless all nations through him, which ultimately points to the gospel and the New Covenant, opened to both Jews and Gentiles through Jesus Christ. It emphasizes that the New Testament deepens believers’ relationship with God the Father. That Scripture shares a pattern of male “father/head” meant to illustrate God the Father’s headship, not to make women lesser, since in Christ all are equal and heirs of the same promise. The conclusion is that God’s purpose is to build His eternal family, named after the Father.
