Bible study: Chapter 36 is a history of Esau and his descendants that become a powerful nation.  The genealogy shows that Esau is important, whose descendants would come in contact with Israel – even now in modern times. Chapter 37 shows the history of Joseph beginning at the age of seventeen and the animosity of Joseph’s brothers toward him.
