We just finished the Feast of Trumpets two days ago about events and God's interventions in the future. This brings to mind a question. How many times does the Bible say God has and will intervene in world affairs? Do you know how many they are and which ones are they? Does it matter? No, a lot of people don't know God has intervened to punish evil doing several times. And which are they? Do they concern us at all? A lot of people think God's never going to intervene again to punish and actually even deny He has ever done so. So it's good to know how many times, according to the Bible, that God has intervened here on the earth. Now these are major interventions and God intervenes daily. We just heard about somebody that asked for anointed cloth and before you knew it they're here at services and it was just as soon as they asked about it they started getting better and here they are. So God intervened and but I'm talking about major interventions. How many have there been? And it's interesting that the Bible records them. And one of the principles, as we begin to remember, is that God only intervenes to punish absolutely when He has to do so. So He's not one to be quick on the trigger at all. He waits until the last moment before He intervenes. Notice in 2 Peter chapter 3, I'm going to read it from the easy reading version, 2 Peter 3 verses 3 and 4.

He says, it is important for you to understand what will happen in the last days. People will laugh at you. They will live following the evil they want to do. So in the last days people are just going to be doing wickedly. They're going to do what they want. They don't want any type of restrictions. They will say, Jesus promised to come again. Where is He? Why has it taken so long? He said, our fathers have died, but the world continues the way it has been since it was made. So they say, no, God has an intervene. On that verse, other translations have it. It says, those fathers who died translates it as the first leaders promised.

And have, well, the first leaders have died. In other words, the apostle said Christ was going to be coming and they all died. The thing is that God didn't say exactly when He was going to return. He left that up in the air. And so people say, well, it hasn't happened yet. But that's part of Bible prophecy. God said of the day and the hour, nobody knows. Even the apostles in their day didn't know exactly. It goes on to say, but these people don't want to remember what happened long ago.

The skies were there and God made the earth from water and with water. All this happened by God's word. Then the world was flooded and destroyed with water. So there was this intervention that took place in the past. And then we have verse 9 of 2 Peter 3, which is again showing how God is very patient.

He's giving time to the world to repent, to change. He says in verse 9, The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. So God is not going to intervene unless He has to, until He's forced to, because how society is deteriorating so bad, it has happened in the past, and God has waited until He can't wait any longer.

So how many times in the Bible can we see that God has intervened and will intervene here on the earth? Let's count them in the Bible. There are five times mentioned in the Bible. Let's go to the first one. 2 Peter chapter 2 verse 3. 2 Peter chapter 2 verse 3. 3 Peter says, By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words, but for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. Another translation has it, the New Living Translation says, In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money.

Religion is a big business. We don't have to pass baskets around or have people have to sign pledges and things like this, because we know that's something between you and God. What you do is pay tithes and offerings, whatever. That's up to you. But I tell you, religion is a big business. As a matter of fact, over in San Francisco, I was reading again in The Economist, oh no, in the Orange County Register, and it had the oldest church in San Francisco.

It's this huge cathedral, and it's a more of a like an evangelical cathedral, but they have to pay $17,000 a day just to stay above water. All the personnel. And so what do they do? They even have trapeze artists going from one side to another to entertain people. They have all kinds of classes, new world classes. They've got all kinds of classes. So it's kind of like a big entertainment place. And people come. Some were interviewed, and they said, oh, I'm an atheist, but I like this church because it's entertaining. And so you have to entertain people so that they'll pay. And here, I think $17,000 a day is the cost of maintaining that.

So it tells us here, be careful. Go because you really fear God and respect Him. And don't go because it's more entertaining or the music is nicer. Because that's not going to save you one day. It goes on to say in verse four of 2 Peter 2, it says, for if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell, the term is Tartarou in Greek, which means a place of confinement that's here on earth.

That's where they've been cast down to and deliver them into the chains of darkness to be reserved for judgment. So the first intervention even happened before human beings. That was when the angels, a third of them rebelled against God and they were cast down to the earth. Christ said in Luke 10 verse 18, you can jot it down, Luke 10 verse 18, Christ said to them, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Because of course, the word who became Jesus Christ was there. When the angelic rebellion took place, they tried to overthrow God the Father and the word who became Jesus Christ. And of course, they were defeated and they were cast down here as fallen angels. And so the earth was devastated at that time from this angelic rebellion and war.

From Genesis 1-2, after God created the heavens and the earth, everything was beautiful. It says in Job 38-17, I believe it is, where it says that the angels shouted for joy when they saw this beautiful universe. But then there was that angelic rebellion and Christ from heaven saw them being cast down here to the earth. That's where they are. That's where they do their damage.

So apparently in Genesis 1-2, it says that the earth became chaotic and a wasteland. I've got this on my it's here's just an overview I looked up in the internet. It says according to Genesis 1-2, it says AI overview, which has to do with, I guess, this version. Genesis 1-2, the earth was described as formless and void, which is often interpreted as in a state of chaos and a wasteland. With the Hebrews words, tohu and bohu, conveying the idea of emptiness and lack of order. So the earth became that way. We don't know exactly when that happened, but as far as geological formations are concerned, it could be what they call the K-T level in geology, the Cretaceous-Tertiary division, where the dinosaurs disappeared, and afterwards we have mammals taking over and appearing. So that's a time when it could have been with wiping out of the dinosaurs and beginning the world of mammals. It's interesting that at that level in geology around the earth where they see the difference between dinosaurs and then mammals, and also botany was different. At the time with the dinosaurs, they didn't have grass. They didn't have angiosperms, which are fruit trees. They were all these huge ferns. It was a whole different world, and from one moment to the other, it disappeared and wasted because asteroids hit the earth. There's a layer of what is called iridium, which is a very rare metal, but it is found in abundance in asteroids and meteorites, and it's characteristic. At that level, the earth was hit with multiple asteroids, and you can see one is on the Gulf of their Yucatan Peninsula. It's a huge crater. It's about 120 miles across, and then they found another one in the Ukraine as well. We don't know for sure, but when angels came down, there was chaos and wasteland. Let's go to the second great intervention of God. This is again in 2 Peter 2, verses 6 and 9. What is the next event?

Verse 5 is the one I want first. This is the second event. 2 Peter 2, verse 5, it says, and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly. So yes, God got to the point where he couldn't stop what was happening until he intervened. The world got so bad that there was no way to rescue. People were so corrupted, they didn't regard God. It was a world filled with wickedness and violence. And as you see how even in this country, in the last 20 years, how much things have changed from what people used to enjoy. And they had basically the same values. Now we don't. And so this was the second great intervention that has taken place.

A worldwide flood in the days of Noah. And by the way, I'm still in discussion with Dr. Joel Clank about that arc. And again, I think God is just waiting. They've already photographed, they already have troops up there, they have drones, but the Turkish government has not dared announce it. So that's part of Noah's flood. That's part of the proof that it actually happened. Again, a good website is called JoelClank.org. And you can go there. He's got all of this evidence.

Then, the third great intervention, 2 Peter 2, verses 6 and 9. So we're still in the same chapter. It says, I think we're pretty tormented every day. Just watching the news. How much is going on? And evil deeds happening all around us. It says, verse 9.

Judgment. So here we have the third great intervention, Sodom and Gomorrah.

It was about, I'd say, 14-15 months ago. I had a chance to go to an archaeological seminar in Albuquerque, New Mexico. And there they have the archaeologist who is excavating the area of Sodom and Gomorrah. And he gave a whole presentation. They still have a mound that is the largest mound in all of Israel. This whole area is much bigger than Jericho or any of the other mounds that they have found. And it's right there on the Jordan side. It's pretty close to the Dead Sea. And his name is Francis Collins. Dr. Francis Collins had a chance to be with him. And he just went through the whole thing. That mound is so huge. It actually has two levels, and the second level is where the palace is and everything. But the ground still has salt in it and toxins. Nothing grows because it's mixed with ash, that whole area. They've excavated rooms that the blast that hit that area, and it must have been a kind of a meteorite because they've got the area in front of Sodom and Gomorrah. It made a huge crater, and it knocked everything off its bases. And the pots, the big ceramic jugs that people would use to carry water and everything, they were embedded in the walls. They actually, the heat and everything, and pushed them. And you can see half of those jars inside, and then you have bones. Everything is broken into pieces. So again, this is part of God has intervened, and people think, no, He's not watching. He's not going to do anything. Boy, are they ever going to be surprised. So let's go to another of God's intervention. This one is just a couple of chapters over in the book of Jude in verse 5. Jude verse 5, it only has one chapter. And he also talks about this intervention. But I want to remind you, though, you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. Do you remember when God intervened with a pharaoh? And those ten plagues that fell there, it actually left Egypt destroyed.

And again, you remember how it mentions in Genesis 15 that God told Abraham, look, I'm not going to bring the people out of Egypt until the sins of the Canaanites has reached their threshold, their tipping point. And so God gave Egypt and God gave the Canaanites time to change, to repent. None of them did. And in the Bible, it tells us that despite everything that people are going to go through, they're not going to want to repent and change their ways. It's very sad, but it does happen in this way. Let's look here.

Let's go to Revelation.

In chapter 9, verse 20, talking about the things that are going to happen, it says in Revelation 9 verse 20, it says, But the rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons. A lot of demon activities going on. You know, October is the time when all kinds of movies about demons appear. Why? Because of Halloween. People think it's so funny and they've got all these movies, but that's all the work of demons. These things are not true. These don't exist, but Hollywood has certainly made a lot of money off of it, and people don't realize it twists a person's mind. They did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons and idols of gold. So you can go to many churches and you're going to see idols of gold and silver, brass and stone and wood. A lot of fancy stuff there. People bow down to them. They kiss the feet of supposed saints, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders. And how much has that murder rate gone up? It is time and time again. Gangs are terrible. Or their saucery, the term here, has to do with it's pharmacia, where you get the part of drugs.

The Jewish New Testament Bible says, nor did they turn from their murderings, their involvement with the occult and with drugs.

Or their sexual immorality. Or their thefts. So people are getting worse and worse. And with the new technology, they can do a lot more. Because now they can even, through satellite imagery, know who's there and who's not there. And you all know about these things. See, God did not create the earth to be filthy and full of wickedness. And the world used to be a lot better place than it is now. So God did intervene in the time of Egypt. And he will again. The last one is found in 2 Peter, chapter 3. 2 Peter, chapter 3, verses 7 through 10.

It says, after it mentions about the world in verse 6, which perished in the flood. But the heavens, talking about the atmosphere, the sky, and the earth, which are now preserved by the same word of, talking about God, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this, that for the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is one day. Referring to that six thousand year plan that God has, it's interesting that from the time of the creation of Adam and Eve to this present time, it's still within the time frame of six thousand years. We don't know exactly all the details, and there's still some wiggle room there. We don't know exactly what time, but we're in the ballpark figure. And then it says, verse 10, but the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. Both the earth and the works of it will be burned up. The surface of the earth eventually will be purified by fire. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. Nevertheless, we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. So that's going to happen. Finally, that new Jerusalem is going to be coming upon the earth.

Verse 14, therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by him in peace without spot and blameless. So this is the last one. We got one final intervention on the earth.

We don't know when it's going to happen, but it could happen in our lifetime.

It will be an incredible experience if we witness it. Just like the Israelites were in Egypt. They had to go through the first few plagues, and then God protected them from the rest and rescued them. They witnessed all the miracles from God. The two witnesses will appear just like Moses and Aaron did to let the world know what God wants and the need to change. So we're preparing for the coming feast. Let's look forward and don't lose your vision of the glorious future. Final scripture in Hebrews chapter 11. Hebrews chapter 11 verse 13. Do you feel like a pilgrim that you look at this earth? We're living in it. We're to enjoy it. God doesn't want us to be miserable. He wants you to prosper and bless, but don't forget to take him into consideration. And it says in Hebrews 11 verse 13, talking about all these men and women of faith. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, the promises of being in the kingdom of God, but having seen them afar off, were assured of them. They were going to be part of it in the future. Embrace them and confess that there were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things, declare plainly that they seek a homeland. What is our homeland? It's Christ coming back and establishing his kingdom here. And truly, if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, if they were just looking at the physical country, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country that's coming down. Christ is preparing it. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. Yes, he's preparing a kingdom. We just happen to be those that God has opened our eyes to what's happening in the world. Most of the people are not going to be aware when God finally does intervene. So, brethren, the earth has gone through four great interventions, from all that we know, and there's one left, a fifth one. Let's be faithful to the end.

Mr. Seiglie was born in Havana, Cuba, and came to the United States when he was a child. He found out about the Church when he was 17 from a Church member in high school.
