This sermon discusses what being holy means and why it is so important for a Christian to be holy as God is Holy. Some mainstream churches claim they have leaders that they call “Most Holy” or “His Holiness”. Are they really holy as God defines holiness? Do their lives display Godly holiness? In simple terms holy or sanctified means being set apart for a special purpose as defined in scripture. It could be expressed as being cleansed of faults and set apart by God. The Bible talks about the law being holy, just and good, the Sabbath Day is holy and God’s special days such as His annual Holly Days as being holy to God. God also wants his people to be holy as He is holy. Holiness can also be defined as our association with God and His revealed way of life, the very opposite of worldliness. This sermon describes how you can become holy with the use of God’s Holy Spirit and clinging to the truth of God’s word. Yes we are called to holiness; that is why it is so important to God.
