From the time that God created humanity, He prepared an inheritance of eternal life for them. However, we in our sins have forfeited that inheritance. The Book of Ruth tells us of how God has given us a redeemer, which creates a means for that inheritance to be restored to us. Through Ruth's example, God teaches us of how we can respond to the calling that He has given to us, and--through His redemption and the firstfruits of the holy spirit--become restored to an inheritance of eternal life.
