Jonah

The Reluctant Prophet

God sent Jonah to Nineveh, the capitol of ancient Assyria, with a call to repent.  In his heart, Jonah wanted to see this enemy of Israel destroyed and so he turned and ran from God’s calling.  After being humbled by spending 72 hours in the belly of the great fish, Jonah willingly took God’s message to Nineveh.  To his great surprise, Nineveh repented upon hearing his prophetic warning.  This sermon draws seven lessons from the story of Jonah, the reluctant prophet.
